May I first introduce myself, I am 71 years old and a male, married

problems in keeping the bottom of the tank clean, like what you see in
Fry in my Tank.30 Sep 2006 16:50 GMT4
Please excuse my extreme Newbie-ness.
I've had my 30 Gallon running for about 80 days now - 40 without fish.

Nil, NO3 - 7 to 10 PPM. 10% water change once a week. Twice weekly pH

CO2 and anabantids29 Sep 2006 02:07 GMT17
Just a quick question.
I've got a planted seven gallon tank, cycled, with a male betta, 2
cherry barbs, and two corydoras trileanatus. I've been toying with the
idea of setting up a basic DIY 2 liter yeast reactor, as my plants
Eheim 2126 Thermofilter heater broken26 Sep 2006 10:23 GMT1
I own an Eheim 2126 Thermofilter with integrated heater. It appears
that the heater control module or sensor is broken because the module
LCD reads "0.00". I'm not sure if something is shorted out or what
(well some water might have gotten into the unit) so MAYBE it will dry

Pregnant or just fat fish?21 Sep 2006 17:10 GMT1
I have three fish I thought were pregnant. Two Black Molly's and a Sword.
They have huge bellys, and from my experience with fish from fishing, would
appear to be pregnant. But its been too long I think. SOmeone here said they
should have given birth within 30 days. Well its been ...

Too much bio-filtration? Is there such a thing?21 Sep 2006 08:49 GMT3
Hi my fishy friends,
Q: Is there such a thing as "too much bio-filtration"?
Q: Would doubling or quadrupling water turnover (from the 10X rule of
thumb) be safety redundant or just a big waste of money? Mind you I'm
My poor Betta saga20 Sep 2006 17:34 GMT2
Well I posted a message on here awhile back about my sick betta that
I dont know what's wrong with it.  I still dont but he's still alive
after a month or so.  He still has white patches on his skin and I am
not sure if its fungus or bacteria.  His fins are all still there so

Posting in Vanity - A Couple of My Tanks18 Sep 2006 01:25 GMT3
These are just a couple my freshwater tanks.  I don't have good photos of
all my aquariums.
The first tank started off as an African cichlid tank many years ago and
eventually evolved into what is now mostly a rainbow tank.  Only a breeding
What are effects of not changin water for long periods?17 Sep 2006 22:42 GMT16
I havent had time to change water in about 5-6 weeks due to some work and
family related issues. Took time to add treated water though. There seems to
be no ill effects and the water readings are pretty good and consistent with
the exception of the water being a little hard. The ...
Opinions wanted .... new 75 gallon tank17 Sep 2006 04:07 GMT9
I am purchasing a 75 gallon tank next month, and would like opinions on what
I have planned for it. I have a lot of experience, but would like to know

The tank will be in a dark area with only 2 small fluorescent ...
