| Betta question | 14 Dec 2006 17:06 GMT | 1 |
I just got a new Betta for my desk at work, he is in a 1 gallon, filtered and lighted tank. For a tank this small, what would you suggest using (if anything) such as supplements/vitamins/etc. for the water? I feed him some betta-min flakes in the AM and a couple

I currently have a tank with a painted (emulsion) background, which i want to replace for some of that laminate photo stuff which comes on a roll. I normally prefer painted backgrounds, but in this case we've decided upon the laminate... the tank has a very large pl*co (14") and ...

| CarboPlus | 11 Dec 2006 21:36 GMT | 3 |
I would like to try and pool a discussion about the pros and cons of the Carboplus device for controlling ph values in a tank. For those not aware this is a device which claims to make CO2 from an electrolytic process. You pass electricty across a stainless steel and carbon ...

| vacation feeding - fish and frog | 11 Dec 2006 17:30 GMT | 13 |
Hi, I read many older posts which suggest that not giving food for 2 weeks will not harm fish when on vacation. But what about a dwarf frog? the other denizens in the tank are a couple of guppies, 3 scissors, 2 glass cats, 1 cat fish, 1 algea eater.

| new tank | 09 Dec 2006 02:20 GMT | 5 |

| Secrets the Pet Stores Don't Want You to Know | 08 Dec 2006 18:58 GMT | 9 |
Many pet stores unfortunately just see the money involved and couldn't care less about the animals they sell. That's why they cram bettas into those tiny cups. More bettas in more tiny cups means more money for them.

| Large Water Changes When Playing With Water Chemistry | 08 Dec 2006 12:51 GMT | 18 |
I was wondering if any of you take any special precautions when adding tap water that has different chemistry than the tank water. I'm assuming it would be important to either *not* do a large water change *or* to add water very slowly, over a period of time when one

| pH dilemma.... | 08 Dec 2006 12:43 GMT | 9 |
