Betta spawnign problem... male doesn't care08 Dec 2006 04:22 GMT2
First time I ever spawned betta's.  I believe it is the first time
these two have as well.  I get a 10 gallon aquariam set up.  Have a cup
with some plastic wrap so he can make a bubble next.  I get home from
work today, and both their tails are split in half... but they seem to
Energy efficient aquaria07 Dec 2006 20:19 GMT7
Given the current concerns about climate change, we're getting serious
in my household about reducing out energy use .  We don't own a car,
and we're renting our flat (so solar hot water etc is out).  We've
swapped all our light bulbs for compact fluorescents, and bought a
Blacl Molly Completely Vanished07 Dec 2006 16:40 GMT10
One of my Black Mollys some time ago had some problems, like her back was
broken and she was swimming sideways and all around. Someone mentioned a
teaspoon full of salt, which I added and it did no good. It actually had
appeared her back was broken some way. I went on vacation ...

Media for Eheim 221307 Dec 2006 03:32 GMT2
I just picked up a 2213 for dirt cheap on Craigslist. I plan to use it
supplement an HOB on a 55G that's home to one juvenile Oscar.
I'm looking for recommendations on what would be best to stack it with. Any
input would be much appreciated.
Tank Cycling problem06 Dec 2006 20:58 GMT4
I've just sent up a new 3 foot tank (4 days ago) with loads of plants.
No fish yet. I have been 'feeding" the tank with some food and the
stuff is going all nice and furry as uneaten food does.
Ammonia has measureed at Zero from the beginning (I am guessing the

betta won't eat06 Dec 2006 15:09 GMT1
I have a betta, not sure of his age but probably about 2 years old.  No
change in tank, water, etc. he is in a 1 gallon lighted tank with underwater
filter.  This past month he has been laying around 95% of the time, on the
bottom of the tank.  He was eating a little bit, albeit ...
My fish having problems staying down,...05 Dec 2006 22:39 GMT6
I have a fish, a platy that seems to have a real problem,...I think that
it's a problem with it's swimming bladder[?], because it's constantly
struggling as it swims to stay level, bobbing upwards, and then
struggling to get back down to where it was. Is there anything that a
5 gallon tank mate suggestions05 Dec 2006 21:43 GMT3
I am a long time lurker and first time poster.  I have enjoyed reading the
different posts and opinions.
I have a 5 gallon octagon tank.  It was home to a guppy and apple snail.
The guppy, which I raised from a fry, has passed on and I would like to find
Question on heating and water changes05 Dec 2006 20:53 GMT7
I would think about heating one of my betta tanks to a little warmer,
but how would water changes work?  Right now I have some water sitting
out to age and become room temperature before it is time to do a water
change.
Fishless cycle05 Dec 2006 13:15 GMT13
Hello everyone.  I am trying to get my first tank set up (55 gal).  I
have read much on the web about initial set up of the tank and being
that i have 2 small children who i did not want to explain the many
deaths that could be involved in doing a traditional cycle, i decided to

Injured betta photos - advice?04 Dec 2006 14:56 GMT1
Three months ago our betta had a small bump at the base of its tail
fin.  Now the bump has grown to about 4x4mm, sticking about 2mm out.
It's white and doesn't appear to have any fuzz on it.
