| Cleaning Fluval 305 type filters? | 31 Jan 2007 13:31 GMT | 1 |
Hi, how often do people clean out fluval 305 type filters? The reason I ask is that mine doesn't seem to need doing for months at a time, but when I do it, I find that there is a lot of dirt in the ceramic biological part of the filter which must have been pulled through the ...

| It never ends | 31 Jan 2007 01:37 GMT | 33 |
Our small, local news paper has a "Pet Talk" section. Usually it's about dogs, cats and birds. Last Wednesday there was a small piece about fish tanks and how "A slimey tank isn't a bad thing", but of course..the common myths had to

| Levels Getting Worse..... | 28 Jan 2007 23:11 GMT | 57 |
I tried the suggestions on vacuuming my gravel for waste, cutting back on my feeding to now once every other day and not very much... I've completed two 25% water changes, and added AmQuel to try and Neutralize the Nitrates and Nitrites..

| importance of tank frame? | 24 Jan 2007 05:23 GMT | 3 |
How important is the plastic frame on an All-Glass tank, the modern kind with good silicone seals? I had a small fire in my tank hood, and part of the frame melted, in spots both on the top frame & bottom, on one end. I'm not sure how the

| Resun and other filters | 23 Jan 2007 10:48 GMT | 4 |
I googled Resun filter, which was mentioned in the setting up a canister filter thread. They're incredibly cheap in Australia, and the pictures look good. One site that came up from the US belongs to a poster on TFA: Carl! Here's the link:

| Sick Betta? | 23 Jan 2007 03:20 GMT | 3 |
Hi. I posted here a week ago about my betta. Carl made some replies. I've put up a video here: http://tinyurl.com/38gxyk It's a bit shaky and a little out of focus, but not too bad. Note that the fish is a bit bulky and you can just make out some bulging sides. This is about ...

We have a betta fish alone in a 2.5 gallon acrylic tank from All-Glass (the Mini Bow 2.5). It is filtered. We have had him in this tank for about 3 months. I believe the water quality to be very good - Ammonia and Nitrite are at

| The Corydoras and the green/gold iridescent sheen | 19 Jan 2007 18:30 GMT | 2 |
I've had some Cory's for about 12 months now. They were sold to me as Corydoras julii but as they've grown their markings have come to look more like the reticulated form. Anyhow, I have recently been in the process of upgrading one of my tanks and the two corys have been

I have just purchased an Eheim Liberty, hang-on filter.(smallest one). I can predict that, over the life of this filter, replacing the sponges and the carbon-infused whatsit, regularly, is going to run me into big bucks. The "biofilter

| Tetra or guppies? | 19 Jan 2007 04:34 GMT | 35 |
I have a 10 gal fish tank. I used to put goldfish in but I think the tank is too small for them. I then changed to guppies, but a cold spell wipe them out. I am not thinking whether it is easier to put some tetra (neon red and blue ones) in, or put guppies again.
