Power supply issue for fresh and salt water tanks31 May 2007 19:27 GMT3
Disclaimer - I am posting this question for my wife who is fish tank smart
and computer stupid. I am fairly clueless when it comes to fish tanks. Also,
while my question is regarding both fresh and salt and this group is aimed
primarily at only fresh, I felt that the question was ...
Not So Aquatic Plants31 May 2007 17:57 GMT1
The plants in my aquaria seem to last equally long whether thyey are true
aquatic plants, or simply those sold by the LFS that seem to last OK
submerged but are really not aquatic - some house plants EG Aluminium Plant
illustrate this.
Dojo Loach in Trouble... can you help?31 May 2007 05:56 GMT4
One of two dojo loaches that I've had for nearly a year has become
sick.  He lives in a 72 gallon tank with a school of black skirt
tetras, a school of Danios, some White Clouds and a largish
plecostomus (8").
Dead fish = plant food?24 May 2007 16:22 GMT1
Assuming a planted tank with a low bioload, would leaving a dead fish
in there be all that bad? wouldn't the plants use the decomposing fish
as fertilizer?
I noticed a dead oto in my tank yesterday. I didn't fish it out right
Why People Like Bettas So Much23 May 2007 16:13 GMT5
1. Their amazing good looks. Everyone's amazed by the rich colors of
my bettas and their dramatic fins. They're stunning little creatures.
In my large collection of bettas I've got everything you can imagine.
There's Rusty, who's red with shiny green fins. Kermit, who's green.
Swimming in circles on glass face.  Is this normal?22 May 2007 15:59 GMT3
I have a 29-gal (110-l) heavily planted low-tech tank with 18 fathead
minnows (rosy reds, actually), a couple of Ottociclus affinis, and a
pair of crayfish.  Some of the minnows have taken up the habit of
swimming in fast circles along the face of the aquarium glass.  Some

learn about the care, breeding and feeding of these creatures?

sinterested in them as pets.
Oscars Dying, why?19 May 2007 10:52 GMT4
I hve had about 5 different oscars in my tank. Initially there were 3
oscars and 3 jack dempseys and 1 pleco. All of the oscars have died,
incuding the replacement 2 I bought to equal 5. I pleco has died but I
replaced it. The dempseys have lived. Do you think that the dempseys
Nitrogen plant food16 May 2007 17:23 GMT3
I have been adding seachem nitrogen plant food to my a quarium at double the
beginner dose for a month or so. As my the plants stopped growing due the

that The plants wouldn't carry on growing on the ...

This is what HATE does to people:12 May 2007 18:30 GMT16
How appalling that the using BC and HRT as an example is twisted into
something this sick by people so filled with HATE they need a secret group
to tear someone apart.  This is beyond belief.  The original messages about
research, HRT and BC were to Jan, not Gill.  This is how ...

Diatom filter with good head?06 May 2007 22:39 GMT1
I uncovered the pond today and it was a bit murky (Three dead fish), so I
decided to get out the Vortex Diatom filter. But I had real trouble getting
the Vortex to stay primed or pump. It kept pissing the contents of the jar
back out into the pond. I greased the seal, changed the ...
