is it white-spot, velvet or both?28 Oct 2007 21:46 GMT17
Is it White-spot, Velvet, or both?
I have three fresh water tropical tanks
One 45 litre shallow tank for growing on corydoras and Ancistrus fry
One 70 litre tank which will be home to my Ancistrus so they can breed
New PetCo26 Oct 2007 20:46 GMT2
Hiya fishy folks.
We had a new PetCo open up in town.
It's a very large one, and they have much more stuff than the other
ones in surrounding towns.
Clowns + Tetras = Clowns?25 Oct 2007 17:54 GMT9
I'm currently quarantining some Clowns, Tetras and Yoyos for a couple of
other tanks. I haven't been feeding them much, as they have some Ammonia
issues, despite seeding the filter from another tank. So I go to feed them
today and 5 of the Tetras are missing. I suspect it was the ...

36W - 38W     48'' - 42'' ( 1'' DIA )
is this controller unit any good for a 2ft tank or is it too powerfull.
Pals?  Wish I Had a Camera.21 Oct 2007 06:04 GMT2
I was just feeding my fish before bed when I saw this.  My Betta was
resting on the bottom of the tank diagonally _across_ one of the
Cory cats!  Of course, as soon as they saw me coming with food they
all started swimming about, but I couldn't believe that the Cory was
How quickly does Nitra-Zorb work?20 Oct 2007 22:18 GMT1
I bought a bag of Nitra-Zorb (absorbs ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate)
to make things a little bit easier on the fish I'm using to cycle my
55G tank.  However, I haven't really noticed any difference in nitrite
and/or nitrate levels since I put it in about a day and a half ago.
Identify this fish please..........19 Oct 2007 09:00 GMT6
Can anyone identify the long slender fish in the lower right-hand corner of
this pic?  Those I have have tiny little mouths and look almost exactly like
this fish.

Finally got some Clowns!17 Oct 2007 18:07 GMT5
No, not the resident YoYos. :-)
I finally got around to replacing the Barbs that decimated themselves a few
months ago, so I picked up four Clown Loaches (Tropical tank), 3 Yoyo
Loaches (office tank) and 8 Cardinal Tetras (Tropical tank) to restore their
Bye bye tetras16 Oct 2007 07:01 GMT36
Well they're dying right on time as I feared. The advice I got here that
they adapt to hard alkaline water isn't true, as least not for us here in
middle TN.  I should have known better not to buy them, as it was their
death sentence and a waste of money.  I'm down to 7 neons ...
Underground filters15 Oct 2007 20:09 GMT35
Years ago I had two of these and they worked well.  What books I've read
(published 1995 to date) seem to say they are good inexpensive filters
to use.  However, in my trips to WalMart, a local fish store, Petco &
PetsMart, they seem to have all disappeared - else I'm blind.
Aquagiant: Anyone use this Petco?15 Oct 2007 02:27 GMT7
I noticed a new fish and aquarium supply store in my neighborhood
today.  They're part of a chain local to Edmonton (Canada) called
Aquagiant (http://www.aquagiant.com), though this is the first time
that I've heard of them, or seen one of their stores.
Gourami male(s) question13 Oct 2007 00:01 GMT8
From what I've read here and in several books, it appears that most
species of Gourami's have problems when more than one male of the same
species are in the same tank.  Since I'd like to have maybe three, maybe
four different species, Pearl, Dwarf, Blue and perhaps Gold:
A serious question?09 Oct 2007 23:51 GMT7
How's the tide doing?  Anyone need watering.  The fish are biting.
Losing ball club for sure.  Any discussions needed.
Foam pad under aquarium08 Oct 2007 22:50 GMT2
Is this the same insulation stuff with a white cardboard piece on each
side that Lowes & Home Depot sell in 4'x8' sheets (obviously wayyy more
than I'd need?  Or should I be using a bare 1/2" piece of Styrofoam instead?
