Daphnias in birdbath30 Nov 2007 11:34 GMT2
I've been very busy lately and have not cleaned my birdbath nearly as often
as I should.  I glanced at it this morning and noticed that there are
daphnia swimming in it!  It's kind of ironic that I'm *trying* to grow
daphnia in some buckets, but haven't had much luck with them ...
How common are neon orange- coloured Betta splendens?21 Nov 2007 14:54 GMT16
I know that none of my friends have ever seen one that has the
colouration of one of my Bettas, a brilliant orange colour, with long
flowing fins, have any of you folks? Pax Vobiscum,....~Dean.
Ich Outbreak!!!!!!!!!!!!20 Nov 2007 17:52 GMT14
How the heck can this happen when nothing has been added for awhile???  I
happened today as this morning they were all fine.  My poor clown loaches
are covered, the other fish have some.....  what's recommended with clown
loaches that's safe?     :*(
Which Ammonia remover?20 Nov 2007 15:45 GMT6
I recently had a bad experience with the cycle on a quarantine tank, so I
thought it would be useful to have some Ammonia detoxifier on hand. I
currently have some of the crystals, but this is not always convenient
depending on the filter being used. Some of the products claim to ...
Clown pleco dies16 Nov 2007 21:31 GMT5
I have no idea why the little guy passed away. I also have no idea how old
they are when you buy them. I seldom saw them over the two years they've
been in the tank.  The tank is planted so I don't know if the other one is
still alive as they hide all the time. The rubberlip ...
Rainwater the solution12 Nov 2007 16:42 GMT1
Free rain water. Hundreds of gallons from the outbuilding roof mixed with my
tap water brought the PH down to 7.4 and the hardness in the area of 200ppm.
As long as it rains once in awhile I'll have more than enough water for
water changes.  :-)
Weird SAE Yoyo Loach behaviour08 Nov 2007 20:04 GMT6
I just added 3 Yoyo Loaches to my small tropical tank and they've been
hanging out with the SAEs ever since. You'd think they were long lost
buddies. They pretty much ignore each other in the larger tropical tank. The
Loaches rarely venture out of their Loach Motel (Chinese ...
Pacu not eating...08 Nov 2007 19:18 GMT3
I have a 3 year old Pacu in a 55 gal tank. (I am planning on getting a bigger
tank as soon as I can afford to) He is approx. 15 in. and the only other fish
in the tank is a pleco who is about 6 in.
We moved about an hour away from our old place about 2 months ago. I know the
Weather loach06 Nov 2007 14:48 GMT2
One of my weather loaches seems to have some kind of sore on his
face.
He's had it for a few weeks now & appeared as if something had taken a
chunk out of the side of his face (possibly maybe one of my sucking

Clowns & Khulis compatible?06 Nov 2007 02:04 GMT2
Can Clown Loaches and Khuli Loaches be kept in the same aquarium?  The
aquarium is 100 gallons, heavily planted.
New Eel   = )03 Nov 2007 15:16 GMT4
Hello fishy folks.
I hope those of you who celebrate Halloween had a great and spooky
time!  = )
I picked up a new Peacock Eel the other night.
Sand on the bottom..........01 Nov 2007 05:22 GMT31
I'm about to set up the other 55g tank in the sunroom. Because it'll be
heavily planted I was wondering about adding rough builders sand to the
gravel.  The question is.... how do you vac the gravel without sucking up
the sand?  Or is that not a problem?
