Plant difficulties13 Dec 2007 16:37 GMT3
I used to be able to propagate plants in my tank. Not the really
demanding ones, but the duckweed, etc., but now, absolute NOTHING
thrives in my 20 gallon tank. The fish seem happy enough however.
Our water is fairly soft, and I pay attention to the PH, though it
Second 55g13 Dec 2007 04:21 GMT7
I finally got the second 55g tank set up, planted and added a few platys.  I
haven't yet decided what else is going in there to join them other than a
few small algae eaters.

In the past few months, several of the fish I've added to my tank have
died soon afterwards. They are bought from a very reliable LFS and I am
certain it is not that they are unhealthy or diseased when I get them.
The most recent victims have been a beta and an otocinclus.

a while back, not to long ago I had got two red bettas from my LFS that is
closing, they were sick and they had got into a fight at some point before I
got them (fins were a mess) and a couple people on here helped me, and they
are doing great now, fins are even looking better
The new bettas07 Dec 2007 18:49 GMT6
All the bettas are now eating.  :-)
No fish were lost to the outbreak of ich.  I finally had to resort to
Quick-Cure. Even the last 2 neon's tolerated it well.
Some PetCo stores have Halfmoon, and Delta tails now.07 Dec 2007 18:43 GMT3
Hey fishy folks.
Those of you who are lucky enough to be near a "chosen" PetCo, now
have the better fin varieties of Bettas.
Halfmoon - tail fin spread of 180*. Really nice looking fish, and they
More Bettas05 Dec 2007 17:59 GMT4
I took a trip to the new Petco with a friend a few nights ago and came home
with 3 new bettas.  :-)  One is a little white female with yellowish fins, a
red male and a blue-green male.  They had the most beautiful regular bettas
I've seen in months. Only problem is the female is ...
Dead Newsgroups?05 Dec 2007 14:29 GMT19
[Note: Cross-posted to 4 affected groups]
A year ago when I checked last these rec.aquaria.* newsgroups were alive and
thriving with several dozen informative postings every day.
However for the last month or so there were maybe half a dozen postings
Poor poor pityfull  RPM  moderator cry babies beat all I have ever     seen05 Dec 2007 13:58 GMT2
They sure can and did sucker folks into sponsoring a "private" forum
for them to be center stage. They wanted it moderated, but they sure
can not afford to keep it without hollering and spamming opther gorups
for contributions so their private stage can go on for another fiasco
Perhaps this group needs to reinstate their kill filters thanks to     Wayne the know-it-all04 Dec 2007 18:08 GMT1

YoYo loach & skunk botia03 Dec 2007 15:28 GMT8
I have 2 YoYo loaches in one tank, and 3
skunk botia in another tank.  The tanks are
20 gallon longs.  I'm contemplating replacing
the two tanks with one larger tank, and
