The clown loaches have moved into the barrel on the bottom as I mentioned
before. The little rubberlip pleco moved in with them. Soon they'll need a
larger barrel or home.  I'm thinking of using a plastic flower pot upside
down with large openings they can't get caught in.  The ...

Hello fishy folks.
With opinions being very strong on the different ways to cycle a tank,
I thought it would be a good idea to give out facts and links to the
ways that are better than cycling with fish.

There are many different opnions between hobbyists, that's obvious.

Mixing rainwater 60/40 has worked. The tetras are thriving and no more neons
have died.  I have an endless supply from the tubs under the garage,
outbuilding and greenhouse eves. :-))
It doesn't seem to have had any effect on the plants one way or the other.

I received an aquarium kit and am researching how to set it up.  This is a
long-time wish finally coming to fruition, but I have no experience with
aquariums (or is it aquaria?).  It is a simple 10 gallon rectangular glass
tank.  I hope to be able to set up a nice freshwater ...
