Hi all - about a week ago I moved my betta into a 5 gallon tank where he alone resides. This made him so happy he's covered half the surface with a bubble nest. My question is...how do I clean it off without dumping out all the water? Should I scoop with a net?

I saw some packets of live blood worms in my local pet shop and was thinking of getting some for my 3 goldfish. The worms were in (presumably) blood (well the liquid was very red anyway!), does it matter if any of this blood gets in to the tank?

I just set up my first 10-gal goldfish tank last week and intend to change out 2 gals per week. Right now I'm in the "cloudy water" bacteria bloom stage. Is it OK to change water before cycling is complete, or should I wait?

| courgettes/zucchini | 28 Sep 2003 14:11 GMT | 1 |
My LFS suggested that to deter GF attacks on my plants, I put a hunk of courgette (zucchini to the US?) in. So far, it seems to work well (the fish seem to enjoy the change), however the LFS's courgette was sunk, mine floats. Although this is OK for my GF, they enjoy attacking the ...

| Purposely sinking food? | 27 Sep 2003 15:24 GMT | 3 |
One of my common goldfish all nut refuses to eat floating food at the top of the tank. However, she's quite happy to scour food from the gravel and eat food that sinks. It concerns me slightly that she eats a fair amount less than all the others, even my small veiltail. Is it
