I'd like to introduce an apple snail into my tank to eat all the dead plant life. How do I go about doing so, do I need to quarantine if so how long for, do I need to treat with anything? Will my Moors eat it?

My husband bought me a new lionhead last weekend and he is currently in quarantine. A couple of days ago he started developing little white spots (2 or 3 mms wide and about 2 mm high in little round blobs) on his head which I thought at first was new headgrowth. The next day though ...

| Big fish with small fish? | 13 Oct 2003 09:42 GMT | 2 |
Was wondering if it's okay to buy a small (.5"+/-) black moor to put in with my oranda (4") and fantail (3"). Would the other two push it around and not let it get to the food or not? Oh, and they're in a 30 gallon tank.

| Where to test the water | 10 Oct 2003 10:38 GMT | 1 |
I have had a few problems with my goldfish since getting them which all seem to be caused by water quality issues. They currently seem to be exhibiting all the symptoms of acidosis/alkalosis (see http://users.megapathdsl.net/~solo/puregold/disease/symptom/byname.htm#ACIDOSIS).

| Need advice on setting up new tank | 09 Oct 2003 05:25 GMT | 9 |
So, I've got a tank with 4 fish in it, and they're doing okay. However, the commons have started getting aggressive during dinner time, and they're pushing the veiltails around (though the veiltails are getting enough food just fine). So, we moved up the date
