little baby fry19 Nov 2003 02:58 GMT1
I noticed my moor was dropping eggs on Saturday morning. I went to
buy a plastic tub to put the eggs in and when I got back and was looking
in the tank, I spotted two baby fry. I'm surprised I could see them
in that amount of water.
Smelly fish tank19 Nov 2003 02:43 GMT3
We have a small 20ltr (about 5 gal) cold water tank for two small gold fish.
It is in my daughters room and she constantly changes the water (once a
week) but just up to that time it smells awful ! She is trying to avoid a
filter because of the noise but then on the other hand I ...
Betta floating oddly18 Nov 2003 16:13 GMT1
I had a Cambodian Betta who was getting a little old. To be more accurate he
was coming up on 3 years. I always felt bad for making him fight in his
earlier life so i took extremely good care of him. He was gigantic as far as
males go and a bit of an overeater.

I've just moved my two fantails to a new, bigger tank. All is fine - I spent
a long time getting it established etc etc and water is fine. However the
old small tank just had one of those  pygmy lights in it - the kind you get
inside ovens etc? This one has the full fluorescent tube ...

How much water per fish?18 Nov 2003 07:34 GMT4
At the moment I've been keeping one goldfish, but I was wondering how
big a tank should be, in terms of surface area and litres, to keep more
fish.
Is there some sort of equation to go by?
[FAQ] Service Announcement18 Nov 2003 07:11 GMT2
For about 18 months now I have posted links to the Aquaria FAQs in the
newsgroups, but have decided to pass along that task. "Flash" has
graciously volunteered to do periodic postings, so starting right away
the FAQ messages will be coming in from his server. You should be
Removing algae/scum buildup from plastic plants17 Nov 2003 16:40 GMT4
Had these plants for some time and I've decided to clean them.  Is there
something I can soak them in to remove the algae/scum buildup on them?
Thanks,

red poop17 Nov 2003 16:02 GMT5
I have 2 demekins (calico) I just brought home on Thursday.  They are quite
young, I would say, and are about 1" in length, with nice long fins.  They
are in my 5g tank for quarantine at the moment.  When I did a water
change/gravel cleaning this morning, I noticed red, slightly ...
sizing fish ?17 Nov 2003 15:12 GMT7
When you figure the size of your fish, do you include their tail and just
measure the body?
I'm going to get a larger tank for my two guys and need to figure what size to
get.
Goldfish Eating Bubbles - Normal or Hazard?17 Nov 2003 08:55 GMT3
I have two Orandas and two Black Moors in a 30 gallon tank.  My airstone is
creating a minimal flow of bubbles, and some do not explode when they reach
the top of the water.
Even though I feed my goldfish sinking pellets (and never floating food),
Water17 Nov 2003 08:19 GMT1
Hi all! I got a newbie question. Is water from a water softener good for
tropical fish? My water softener uses potassium instead of salt. Thanks.

Change in behavior15 Nov 2003 15:02 GMT7
I have two goldfish in tank. They were very friendly but since this
morning they changed behavior. We can't come close to their tank
because they are very scared and swim like crasy. I'm affraid they
will hurt themself. After that they hide at the corner. They eat very
Shredded tail fins?!?14 Nov 2003 22:44 GMT7
When I came home from work last night, my black moor's tail fins were totally
shredded, and he's missing some scales on his side.  I have absolutely no idea
what happened - there are two other gf in the tank but I've never seen them
attack one another.  The substrate is large ...

One of my bubble fish got his bubble caught in the filter and it tore it all
the way off. What if anything should I do now?
