Fish Lice20 Jan 2004 15:15 GMT17
Hiya,
I have just bought a fantail and before adding it to my tank I noticed that
it had two small round brown marks on it.  After examining the fish closer
and a little searching on the internet I think that these two marks are fish
Photos of Your Aquariums and Fish20 Jan 2004 12:18 GMT38
I was just curious to know if any of you have photos of your aquariums and
fish to share?  I've got a digital camera and was going to take a few shots
of mine then upload them to my web space.  The problem is that the fish
never stop moving, so all my photos have been blurred!  And ...
possibly OT betas?20 Jan 2004 07:17 GMT3
Where can I get questions answered about Betas? If here is ok, then my
question is whether it's disturbing to betas, or any fish for that matter to
have their tank placed on top of a TV? Thanks

I will be going away next Friday at about 5pm and be back at 5pm on the Sunday.
I will feed the 1.5 month old fry before leaving. Will they be ok not being fed
on the Saturday and being fed later in the day Sunday???

Polyester Batting Which one is good?19 Jan 2004 04:15 GMT4
Found some 100% Polyeter batting at WALMART today.
It says "non-Allergenic" but it also says "Mildew Resistant"
Does that mean there's a chance they may have anti-fungicides
in there? ie: not good to use in my filter?
Goldfish changing colour19 Jan 2004 03:39 GMT4
We got an aquarium 6 month ago which is populated by 8 goldfish. My wife
noticed yesterday that one of the fish, normally a golden brassy colour has
developed 2 larger dark/black spots on the top. He seems to be happy enough
otherwise, but my wife is worried it is some kind of ...
Whether loach needs feeding?19 Jan 2004 03:35 GMT2
I have a 20 gallon with 2 gfs and have just bought a Weather Loach.
Will he eat the brown algae that's around the tank or do I need some
bottom food? (The gfs eat floating flakes which he doesn't notice).
And if I do feed the loach will that discourage him from eating algae?

When the Heater Breaks....16 Jan 2004 18:57 GMT10
I have a Whisper 50 watt heater that broke after a water change. The
heater had been working fine for about a year. Last night I did a water
change and went to bed. This morning, I check the fish and the female
pearl scale was sitting forlornly in a back corner of the tank. The male
Automatic Fish Feeder16 Jan 2004 15:06 GMT1
Anyone used one of those battery operated automatic fish feeders? I'm going
to be away for about 16 days and  there's no one able to come in, so I
wondered how effective these are?
white dot16 Jan 2004 15:02 GMT9
My moor has a single small white dot on the edge of his tail fin - about the
size of a pin head. Its not gone any bigger and the others don't seem to
have anything and all seem to be healthy so far. I've dosed with "disease
safe" but any other suggestions.? Water parameters are fine ...

What to do now....16 Jan 2004 04:13 GMT3
Hi all, I'm sure you've heard all of this sort of thing before, but then I
guess that's what this forum is for right?
Here goes:
A month or two ago, I bought a Waterhome 3 (made by Hagen).  It's a small
Goldfish Behavioural Differences?15 Jan 2004 00:11 GMT1
I believe that the various types of goldfish all have the same origin
dating back a few hundred years to Japan (or maybe China). They now
have diverse body shapes and colouring but have the different types of
goldfish had time to develop different behaviour. Dogs have different
