I just tried to take another photo this time from above the fish. I'm much more concerned now. FWIW water parameters are fine, nitrate a little high but it was due a change and I've just done a 30%.

Right..Errol appears to have these white spots on his gills. lbut he's a bizarre coloured fish anyway, so i'm not sure its just his colouring...and with him being a new fish i don'[t know what his *norm* is... how can i tell if it's that white spot thing that ya'll go on about?

Anyone have experience collecting wild driftwood? What processing steps do you need to take? Boiling with salt, disinfecting etc. Is this a dangeroius proposition? Bought Store driftwood is bloody expensive.
