| Goldfish's natural habitat has salt? | 13 Jun 2004 19:16 GMT | 21 |
Salt (pure sodium chloride) is often recommended for certain fishes, ie: Koi, Goldfish, livebearers, African Rift lake cichlids and brackish water fishes (Mono, Archers, some puffers etc). In actuality, the requirement for some of these fish is not salt, but for

| Fluval question | 12 Jun 2004 04:52 GMT | 2 |
I had to replace the ribbed hosing on my Fluval 204 today...and when I was priming it before turning it back on I guess I pumped a little too vigorously. The intake strainer popped off, followed by a round white plastic ball (a little bigger than a marble in size).

Hi all, I've just set up a bigger tank for my coldwater fish, I had to get a brand new filter for the bigger tank, When I filled the tank I used half the water from the existing tank that the fish are in (did a partial change whilst I was at it), how long should I wait before ...

| Just couldn't save him | 01 Jun 2004 16:10 GMT | 1 |
Well, my favorite fish - the one I've been trying to save for the past three weeks - died this morning. I still am not sure what was wrong with him, doing the fish physical on him just yesterday yielded good results all around, with the possible exception of softness in the stomach ...

| Cooling the tank | 01 Jun 2004 05:08 GMT | 4 |
Okay, it is that time of year again. How do all of you keep your tanks cool, below 80 degrees F when it gets so hot outside? I have thought of picking up one of those new micro-mini refridgerators (big enough for a six-pack of beverages), and running my air line through it before ...
