the nice man just round the corner who is selling his 4ft by 2ft by 2ft

need something the size of a small house) and nobody wants them. bah
humbug.
Goldfish's natural habitat has salt?13 Jun 2004 19:16 GMT21
Salt (pure sodium chloride) is often recommended for certain fishes, ie:
Koi, Goldfish, livebearers, African Rift lake cichlids and brackish water
fishes (Mono, Archers, some puffers etc).
In actuality, the requirement for some of these fish is not salt, but for
ammonia problems12 Jun 2004 21:08 GMT8
for months now I have had problems keeping ammonia under control in a 55 gal
tank.
only a couple fish,, (sacrificial it seems), & I put in ammonia stuff in it
( darn don't have the tub in front of me to name it).
Fluval question12 Jun 2004 04:52 GMT2
I had to replace the ribbed hosing on my Fluval 204 today...and when I was
priming it before turning it back on I guess I pumped a little too vigorously.
The intake strainer popped off, followed by a round white plastic ball (a
little bigger than a marble in size).
Fry turned Albino?07 Jun 2004 03:38 GMT2
Hello Fish Friendly Fokes,
We have an outdoor pond and last year we had a few baby goldfish born.  Now,
one of the fry has turned white.  He was the offspring of a Shubunkin (daddy)
and an Oranda (mommy).  At first his colors were quite striking with more
What do I need for an undergravel filter setup?06 Jun 2004 15:43 GMT37
I've not posted for a while due to moving house, but now I'm up and running,
I thought I'd pop back in for some advice! ;-)
We've got a Fluval Uno 800 tank (21 gallons / 96 litres), and are currently
using a Fluval 4 Plus under-water filter.  This filter should be more than
The tank, the tub and the disaster.04 Jun 2004 15:43 GMT7
Hello all again!
My fish have gone from strength to strength over the last three months
and have got bigger.  I have a 18g tank and the fish are now around 4"
each, but even this tank seems a little small for my two fish darting
goldfish anatomy?03 Jun 2004 16:04 GMT6
1) What is the "plimsoll line" that I can see running down the side of
my common and the comet? a line of little dots down the scales, very
regular, running from the top of the gill to the middle of the tail?
(Not visible on the calico.)
New Tank02 Jun 2004 20:17 GMT11
Hi all, I've just set up a bigger tank for my coldwater fish, I had to
get a brand new filter for the bigger tank, When I filled the tank I used
half the water from the existing tank that the fish are in (did a partial
change whilst I was at it), how long should I wait before ...
Tank shopping02 Jun 2004 06:02 GMT5
Tomorrow I'm going to start looking for a bigger fish tank (65-75 gallons).
Where did you all get your large fish tanks? Anything I should watch out for
while shopping? Thanks:D
Just couldn't save him01 Jun 2004 16:10 GMT1
Well, my favorite fish - the one I've been trying to save for the past three
weeks - died this morning.  I still am not sure what was wrong with him,
doing the fish physical on him just yesterday yielded good results all
around, with the possible exception of softness in the stomach ...
liquifry01 Jun 2004 09:11 GMT1
hiya guys!
gotta question...
I guess that shabunkan goldfish only spawn in may, in a clean tank, so fry
is what my dad and i got.
Cooling the tank01 Jun 2004 05:08 GMT4
Okay, it is that time of year again.  How do all of you keep your tanks
cool, below 80 degrees F when it gets so hot outside?  I have thought of
picking up one of those new micro-mini refridgerators (big enough for a
six-pack of beverages), and running my air line through it before ...

Are there any online sources for Romet B antibiotic fish food?  Searching
thatfishplace.com, petco, and google searches have turned up nothing.
Thanks,
Devin
