goldfish season?30 Aug 2004 06:22 GMT4
was at Petco getting dog food when I overheard a clerk talking to
someone that it
was not "goldfish season"
Is there such a thing?  What was he talking about?

plant for goldfish29 Aug 2004 04:58 GMT13
can anyone suggest an aquatic plant that my goldfish wont decimate? i spent
3 months stocking the tank with oxygen weed from a local pet shop, they ate

Temperature?28 Aug 2004 17:32 GMT35
I have read some conflicting numbers for this.  Ive read that people
recommend 28 degrees Celsius on one page and then another has <70f (21
Celsius) as the optimum number.
Any recommendations on where I should attempt to maintain my tank? 20?

Sick fish ...28 Aug 2004 16:01 GMT1
My lionhead recently lost his eye somehow.  He seem to be bouncing
back but today he does not look well all of sudden.  One of his gills
is blood red and he is swimming slightly lopsided kind of drifting
with the current generated with the filter.  He also isnt eating.
possible case of swim bladder disease; what to do?27 Aug 2004 09:11 GMT6
I've lost 2 of my 6 common goldfish to what I believe is swim bladder
disease.  The symptom is that the affected fish seem to have a problem
swimming at depth; they float to the surface and then swim back down,
repeatedly.

35 litres per fish?26 Aug 2004 20:12 GMT2
I have recently bought a 15 litre aquarium starter kit from a well known
hardware store.
I have 1 shubunkin in it, is 15l  not really big enough?
Have changed water &  removed undergravel filter as it was pretty useless:
veiltails26 Aug 2004 01:39 GMT2
Where does one buy a veiltail?  I live in San Diego with several very large
fish stores that specialize in goldfish and they look at me like I'm from
mars when I ask if they have any veiltails.  Also, many of the websites I've
looked at don't even mention the existance of veiltails ...

here....
My girlfirend has an Aquaone filter for her tank, but I'm not 100% sure how
the two slide in things should be put in....
table scraps24 Aug 2004 15:29 GMT2
Which table scraps should not be fed to goldfish?
Comet with lump behind gill24 Aug 2004 15:25 GMT1
We're not talking a small lump either.  It's on the body just behind
the head an is a raised area about 1cm x 1cm.  The scales aren't raised
and the fish seems quite happy.  It's been like it for a couple of
months and doesn't seem to be getting any bigger. I'll try and get a
