Fellow fishes for my goldfish aquarium23 Sep 2004 09:06 GMT18
Hi. I've been an owner of goldfishes for a few years now and I have
experiences with them. I'm buying new fishes tomorrow because old ones died.
Now, I'd like to add some other fishes there and I was thinking of a fish I
saw in the petshop. I don't know what's their name, but they ...
Python and kitchen tap22 Sep 2004 12:56 GMT4
What sort of tap attachment do you get with a python ?
Our kitchen tap is one of those stupid mixer jobs with a extended central
thing and a plastic nut underneath.
Would I have to have another tap plumbed in ?
Black Moor sitting on the bottom21 Sep 2004 22:24 GMT4
My black moor's been sitting on the bottom lately. Now I've had this
problem b4. It sits on the bottom n when it's feeding time it comes up
to get food, swims n forages for a while n goes back resting on the
bottom. Now the scary thing was that a few times, the moor was lying
Changing filter systems21 Sep 2004 16:14 GMT3
I have a 29 gallon tank with one of those "wheel" filter systems.  I'm
planning to change it to one of those multistage filters with a foam pad and
bags of charcoal and ammonia chips etc.
Should I just swap systems or should I do something else like put the wheels
What does fin rot look like ?20 Sep 2004 23:34 GMT2
Probably just a little anxious....
Two of my comets before I recieved them had a couple of concerns.
One had a slight fold in its tail fin.
The other had a piece out of it.
Another Question Regarding Water Changes20 Sep 2004 14:22 GMT6
I'm using the long hose that attaches to the sink to suck out and replace
the water.  If the water goes directly into the tank from the sink, how can
I decholorinate the water?  I usually add a dechlorinator afterward, but is
that too late?

don't know much about goldfish20 Sep 2004 10:39 GMT1
I have to give a 15 minute informative speech in a couple of weeks,
and figured that real people know the most about goldfish.  I can
cover the basics such as history and where they live.  However, my
graders are freshmen like myself attending California State
Appreciate Some Advice When You Have A Moment (Please)20 Sep 2004 10:35 GMT4
I've been reading the newsgroup messages all morning and wished I had found
them 6 months ago.  My son brought a Goldfish home from school, put it a big
bowl, we both fell in love with it, felt bad that it didn't have very much
space to move around, $1,200 at the pet store that ...

Hi Ingrid, I need your help!18 Sep 2004 19:38 GMT3
I love your outdoor pond on your website, and I am planning on
building one either this fall or ealry next spring very close to
yours. I have a few questions, what type of plants should be used for
a veggie filter? Should filter pads be placed at the point of water
Plants for aquariums17 Sep 2004 08:49 GMT1
I have several goldfish tanks and try to keep some live plants--mostly
anacharis--in them.  Trouble is the fish treat the anacharis like candy and
gobble up the leaves (if that's what you call them) in no time at all.  I'm
left with stubby stems!
What eats toad tadpoles?16 Sep 2004 14:47 GMT9
I have about 20 kabillion toad tadpoles in my pond.  What species of
fish (or any other water critter) eats these things?
Thanks!
New Tank installed and filled. Why is the water murky !15 Sep 2004 15:12 GMT7
Well the goldfish are pleased with a new 180Litre Juwel vision tank.
Washed the gravel...filtered water.
Added the water from the old tank ...to give it good bacteria.
Used all the right chemicals to protect the fish...added the tonic salts.
