I recently purchased a veil tail, a real beauty.
I have also a new celestrial and have them both in a quaranteen tank which
is still cycling.
The tank previously had two blackmores in there for a week or two.

My quarrantine tank filter broke, so as an emergency I'm using one of those
clear plastic ones you fill with wool and carbon.
I dont know how to set it up!  I've surfed around but nobody explains it.
neither does the packaging for my filter grrrrrrr.

I was just wondering what you all think of the "Aquaclear 500" filters...Im
taking Ingrids advice and throwing out (or selling) my internal crappy
filter...just found out how harful bacteria can grow in them (thankyou

Anyone have any suggestion for ammonia and nitrates test kit which
is good and accurate ?
I have mine , but it not very good , it made in Taiwan , the brands
name is chinese.

I have a quaestion.

One of my Goldfish has a white bump on his nose and it's getting bigger. It
doesn't seem to have them anywhere else on it's body and none of the other
fish seem affected. I think it's fungus, but I'm not sure. I was going to
treat the tank with PP, as it's a pain to move him because ...

I currently have a little 10 gallon tank. Whenever I clean the gravel
it kicks up chemicals and evil gunk and sends my paramaters out of
whack... would a reverse UGF help with this by keeping things from
settling in the gravel? I really would like to keep the gravel. Would

I would like to know, how to use this to desinfect a tank with no fish.
I have bought some, and have googled it, and it only has info on dips
and ponds not really tanks. When the tank is to be done the fish will be
in a aback up cycled tank. I only purchased 4 oz.

What is the ideal  temperature for a fantail goldfish. I have seen the range
between 64 to 74 degrees F

I have 29 gallons tank with 6 goldfish.
Have plants in the tanks.
My pH is between 6 to 7 , KH is 10 .
The questions is :

My LionHEAD goldfish that i just bought 6 day ago always hidding
behind the plants.
However , it come out if when foods is added in the tanks.
Other LionHEAD  goldfish are OK.

I've got a couple of Fluval 304s on a 75 gallon tank + a bubble wall
(aesthetics). Is this too much filtration/water movement? I noticed that the
