My daughter was bought a new 45 litre fish tank for her birthday. She has
now re-housed her three gold fish - she has had these for a number of
months/years. However, the new filter/ air pump is very very noisy indeed.
Question is: will it harm the fish if this is turned off ...

Anyone else have their GF react to what they're wearing? I'm probably
anthropromorphizing (sp), but they always seem to scatter when I wear my
bright red winter coat.

Having starved one of my orandas for 3 days then feeding it boiled
de-skinned shredded peas for another 3 days, the moment i put it back
in the main tank, after several minutes, it starts floating up to the
top again ( even thou i even haven't fed it anything yet!!). i've

My tank has been cycling since a few days after Thanksgiving.
My pH is low, 6.8. Over the past few days I've been putting pinches of
baking in the water to raise the pH, and I've noticed that my Nitrites
are finally dropping. Now they're in the "not quite zero" range.

I am just about to get my new 700L tank and was wondering if all the water
out of my cycled 200L, my decorations, my 2 aquaclear 500s would be
sufficient in stopping the recycling of the tank.
I bought some ammonia absorber just incase it wasnt

I just bought a catfish for a 10 gallon tank to help clean the bottom. There
is two other fish similiar size in the tank. After 3 days, this morning the
catfish can't be found. I checked the filter, nothing there. Could the
catfish be hiding in the gravel? Any information ...
