Disease diagnostic chart29 Mar 2005 13:55 GMT4
Courtesy of a hard drive melt down, I lost a wonderful reference for
diagnosing diseases in goldfish and how to treat them.  It came from someone
who posts here but I don't recall who.  I've been gone for some time while I
reconstruct my computer.
New Goldfish Owner29 Mar 2005 09:27 GMT7
About 3 months ago I purchased my first two gold fish.  I got 2
fantail's from Meijer.  I actually picked both of them out so I got the
2 that looked the healthiest.  I had them in a bowl for about 2 weeks.
I actually started learning as much as I could about them and found out

Change in Swimbladder20 Mar 2005 22:11 GMT6
Since November 15th - we brought in a fish that was swimming upside
down in our small pond outside and put him in a 29gal tank.
Up until a week ago, he was swimming upside down able to move about the
tank - but not able to keep himself down in the water for very long. He
HELP! after weeks of hardship, fish growing black on fins, burst bubble eye bubble?20 Mar 2005 20:31 GMT14
to summarize this:
two fish left, one of them with extensive black on the edges of his
fins (but this looks like a part of his normal color, but 2 weeks ago
he was 100% orange) , one of them starting to get black blotches, and
water treatment chemical question20 Mar 2005 10:39 GMT1
is the water treatment chemical to get rid of the chloramine
safe for humans?  I use the regular drink containers around
the house to store treated water for changes - how well do I
have to clean those things again before I use 'em for Kool-aid?
bubble eye19 Mar 2005 10:58 GMT4
We are new to fish.  We recentlyy got a bubble eyed fish for our five
year but now are worried that it is lonely since we read that bubble
eyeds are social.   We also have a guppy in another tank and thought to
put them together.  Is that a good idea?  our tanks are rather small.
Swimming questions18 Mar 2005 05:27 GMT3
I normally don't post to the group (I'm the shy, quiet type- never much to
say), but I have something to ask.
I have ( had) 10 Goldies, and up untill recently they were doing great.
Around 2 weeks ago, my favourite fantail, Sceramin' Jay Hawkins, started to
New Tank Question18 Mar 2005 05:27 GMT6
I've had 3 small fantails for about 2 years in a small Eclipse tank (~2
gallons). They've thrived with no problems, but, of course, they needed more
room. So I started a new 10 gallon for them. Setup, filled, treated, etc.
and waited for 2 days (I know, I should've waited a week ...

Moor floating on side17 Mar 2005 12:27 GMT4
Hi all, my moor appears to be floating on the top on it's side most of the
time.  Occasionally it has a swim about (lethargically) but seems to be
demonstrating the signs described here:

nipping oranda17 Mar 2005 04:26 GMT6
I've got an Oranda that likes to nip at other goldfish.  Is it normal behavior?  I don't think it is trying to breed.  It just loves to bother the other goldfish
