Stupid Betta question15 Mar 2005 18:06 GMT67
Are there _any_ tropical fish that can be tanked with a male Betta?
Guppies?
Neons?
Any small fish?
Mmmmm...., you salted my Algae15 Mar 2005 10:01 GMT1
I thought I'd add some salt to the tank to prevent whatever is bothering
Panfry from affecting the other fish. I've read a lot of pros and cons about
salt, so I was a little hesitant. The recommended dose seems to be about one
tablespoon for every five gallons, which in my case ...
Columnaris diagnosis (Panfry goes to the Hospital)14 Mar 2005 04:27 GMT2
I need help diagnosing a sick GF.
It started with a white bump on his snout a few months back, which I treated
with Pimafix/Melafix. This seemed to knock it back, but did not cure it. I
noticed that keeping the water pristine, seemed to do more for him than the

what size air pump for large air stone stick?11 Mar 2005 06:06 GMT5
I bought an 8inch air stone stick for the back of the tank, but my old
very small pump, only gives enough air to make a few bubbles right at
the start of the stick. Obviously its underpowered.\
What size air pump do you all recommend to get a stick of this size
puregold site08 Mar 2005 15:31 GMT6
This morning I went to check something on the old PureGold site
http://puregold.aquaria.net/  and I find advertising.  A quick call to him confirms
he has sold space on the site without my knowledge or consent.  I have no idea how
long this has been going on.  I am absolutely ...
Normal Oranda Behavior08 Mar 2005 03:32 GMT1
We just got an Oranda a few days ago. I have another goldfish with him
along with a dojo loach. The fantail swims around all areas of th
tank. The oranda goes to the top and stays there for a while, and i
looks like he is "blowing bubbles". Probably just gulping air, I am no
Fish Tank Kits - Buyer Beware06 Mar 2005 19:34 GMT16
"blove" provided this link about the New Tank Syndrome:

It is about time an article like the above ( or the articles at http://freshaquarium.about.com/od/aquariumstartup/ ) be included
with ALL fish tank kits.
Feeding peas...06 Mar 2005 15:42 GMT13
Before I came here, I'd never heard of the practice of feeding cooked
shelled peas to fish. ;-)
What is the purpose of this please?
What does it do for them?
Increasing KH06 Mar 2005 06:12 GMT5

below 120ppm) without disturbing the ph.
Id like to keep the ph very stable at around 7.0-7.4 while fishless cycling
the tank is 750L (198gal)
Sick Oranda03 Mar 2005 22:43 GMT1

we just got(oranda) is not. The oranda from the very beginning(I know
should have put her in the hospital tank) has been on the bottom. I se

Bad Oranda Luck01 Mar 2005 07:52 GMT11
I just recently lost one of my orandas.  I had him for about 8 months.
He was quite normal until about 3-4 days before he died.  Symptoms
were that he just sat on the bottom, then would kind of lean to the
side.  He would be like  this in the morning, but would then begon to
fish stuck in python tube01 Mar 2005 01:49 GMT7
I was cleaning my gold fish tank with my big python tube and I turned my
head for a second and my fat shubunkin got sucked into the tube.  I finally
was able to shake him out, but he looked a little dazed.  Has anyone done
this before?  Will he be okay?  What a bad fish mommy I ...
