| Aquarium Pump | 23 Jul 2005 01:05 GMT | 5 |
I am new to goldfish. Just bought a 2 foot tank and fish for my 2yr old daughter's birthday (she loves fish). I am using an undergravel filter and a powerhead. Do I run the powerhead 24/7? Or can I turn it off for periods (like overnight?).

| Goldfish Stress | 22 Jul 2005 23:02 GMT | 1 |
Two days ago my home had a new roof put on, and the constant noise and banging was awful. My cats ran for cover and I noticed my goldfish suddenly went to the bottom of the tank and huddled together. They only swam around when I fed them. Now, two days later they are still ...

| Bubble Wands and Air Stones | 21 Jul 2005 23:40 GMT | 5 |
Is there any difference between bubble wands and air stones as far as aerating the water is concerned? I've used air stones in the past, but switched to bubble wands and the fish seem to like them better - swimming through them happily, but not sure if these replace air

| Peas, frozen or canned... | 21 Jul 2005 17:16 GMT | 7 |
Is anyone still feeding their GF and koi peas? There was a lot of talk about feeding peas a few years back. I picked up a can and tried to feed them to my fish. Only the rosy red minnows and fry would eat them. The adult GF and koi weren't much interested. The minnows and fry ...

| Developing a leak in 100 gallon tank | 19 Jul 2005 17:42 GMT | 3 |
I may be headed for trouble here! I have a 100 gallon aquarium I got from a friend. It has been in use for about 18 months without a hitch. I have a bunch of goldfish in it ranging from 2 inches to 8 inches. I noticed water on the stand at one corner of the tank (oh yeah the ...

| Maximum critter load for a 2 gallon tank? | 19 Jul 2005 04:05 GMT | 6 |
I just set up a 2 gallon freshwater aquarium and I'm wondering how much wildlife it can support and what other kinds of creatures I can place in it that will get along with the existing inhabitants. I want a lot of variety, but without running the risk of overstocking it.

| Sturgeon Problems | 17 Jul 2005 00:28 GMT | 3 |
We have a normally very active Sturgeon, it's probably around 18" long. Since last night it seems to have become very lethargic, to the point today where it was just lying on it's back, we even thought it was dead. This evening it seems to have perked up a bit but not to it's ...

One of my goldfish died from dropsy within 18 hours of being moved to a hospital tank. Hindsight is 20/20 and I should have recognized the symptoms weeks earlier... damn. Should I do anything to the hospital tank and the items in it (including the

| Looking for a good noshing plant? | 15 Jul 2005 06:19 GMT | 7 |
Since my GF seem to like any plants, even the ones they aren't supposed to. I'd like to add something they would enjoy, but is tough enough/fast growing to keep up with them. The theory is that it will distract them enough to stop them tearing up the salad bar just for the hell ...

Here's to my beautiful little orange/white lionhead goldfish (named "Bubbles") who went to Rainbow Bridge yesterday evening (San Jose, CA, June 29, 2005). Bought at a Petsmart store 5-1/2 years ago, she had such a cute face that I had to buy her for $13 despite a shortened/fungus ...
