Nitrite Test31 Aug 2005 23:47 GMT4
Back with a weird question.
First off, if you'll remember, I'm the one with the 3 young fantails
and the 10 gal tank who was trying to get it to cycle. Owing to
problems most likely due to being unable to - even with AmmoLock or
two fish, one died; add a companion?31 Aug 2005 22:00 GMT4
We have had two goldfish (Dottie and Goldie) doing swimmingly well for 4
years in a 10 gallon tank.  Water changes regularly (probably not regularly
enough, but regularly).  Recently, Goldie suddenly sickened and died within
24 hours.  She went from normal to flopping on her side ...
How to clean aquarium accessories31 Aug 2005 16:34 GMT2
Just after a few weeks of use, the inside of the gravel vacuum silicon
tubing has turned from transparently clear to completely black. Flushing the
tube with clean water after each use doesn't seem to help. I think the only
way to clean it is to soak it in bleach but I worry ...
fish and fountain setup30 Aug 2005 14:02 GMT7
I have a 20 gallon barrel setup outside.  It came with a fountain pump
that is rated 600 GPH, I know it sounds excessive, but it also came
with a valve to adjust output.
Two days ago, I added two small comet/feeder fish, they are doing well

I feel like an idiot re:   Parasite Clear Tank Buddies, Jungle27 Aug 2005 22:29 GMT2
So, I have a ten gallon tank and my gold fish in there has anchor
worms. I bought these fizzy tablets (Parasite Clear Tank Buddies by
Jungle) and for the life of me, I cannot understand the directions.
Here they are:
Ailing fish24 Aug 2005 09:50 GMT5
One of my goldfish has been kind of listless for the past week, dorsal fin
down, not too interested in eating, more actually floating around the tank
than swimming.  This morning I hoticed that its usually white tail is taking
on the color of dark orange (the fish is orange).  Is ...
Sinking Lionhead24 Aug 2005 09:49 GMT1
Hi all - I have a Lionhead that seems to have no bouyancy.  It can swim fine
and will eat at least some food when feeding, but since it cant float it
does little foraging which requires the ol headstand.  Water parameters are
fine (except nitrates are 60ish) and there are no ...
Goldfish disease info24 Aug 2005 09:46 GMT1
We have kept our 3 goldfish for over 5 years in an aquarium without any
issues. The other week I noticed the larger of the 3 had torn fins so added
the required "medicine" treatment to cure this. Yeaterday I noticed the fish
was bumping into the walls of the tank and to my horror ...
Restless Goldfish24 Aug 2005 09:44 GMT3
I have a goldfish with bad fin rot - ragged tips and quit a large split
between his tail.  He also has a white 'dusty' looking coating.
He is in a tank with two others, both with the same conditions. The tank
was kept by a relative who had been using an automatic fish feeder (and

Move fish to a larger tank.21 Aug 2005 15:20 GMT4
My Red Cap Oranda has outgrown his surroundings and I need to move him
to another tank. He is a really nice fish and I don't like the idea of
going through a tank cycle with him so was wondering the best way to go
about things.

Fluval 1 plus suitable?  Would like to hear some reveiws on this

my silk plants are dying!20 Aug 2005 14:11 GMT6

gallon tank with an emperor 280 filter system and sand on the bottom. i do a
50% water change at least every two weeks. i've had this set up now with my
three goldies (orandas) for 1.5 years now and ...
Hurt Comet19 Aug 2005 10:14 GMT5
This morning I awoke to find one of my comets with his head stuck in a
tank ornament (obviously it was poking around in there because its an
inanimate part). When I noticed some of his scales were off, I realised
he was in trouble.
