Is anyone using an RO unit? Why did you choose to use one and have you since noticed results? How else have you controlled contaminants in your tap water, or is this not a big concern with fancy goldfish?

My tap water stays consistently at 8.4 (6 months). I'm keeping orandas, shebunkins, and pearlscale goldfish in 3 tanks. Would you lower it, or do you think it best to leave well enough alone? I know it's a little high. n

| The 10 gallon rule | 17 Oct 2005 15:09 GMT | 6 |
I'm a newbie to Goldfish care. I'm seeing over & over the fecommendation of 1 fish per 10 gallons of tank to start with. To me this seems excessive for small juveniles (although I understand the rationale for older fish).
