Pond Fish31 Oct 2005 00:04 GMT5
I have my pondfish currently indoors for the winter, as my pond isn't
finish and I am worried that they wouldn't survive outside anyway.
I have 2 tanks set up (45g and 35g) that I have my goldfish and koi in.
I want to keep them in a cool environment over the winter so that they

aggression or mating?29 Oct 2005 16:35 GMT2
After four happy years together one of our goldfish (Goldie) died in August
and left the other (Dottie) alone.  They had seemed happy together and kept
each other company.  About two weeks ago we decided to get Dottie a partner
and invested in a new fish, Spottie.  After about a ...

ok I have a strange question has anyone ever had an aggresive goldfish??
I have a 3-4 inch fantail that has seemed to kill all of it's tank

Oranda Problem21 Oct 2005 19:48 GMT11
My oranda started acting a bit listless a little over a week ago.  He
would just sit in the plants, didnt appear to be having any terrible
breathing probs or such.  He would come right out at feeding time
though and be pretty much normally active until real late in the
soot spots/curling gills?21 Oct 2005 16:58 GMT1
a friend has problem with soot spots that won't rub off on the body of his
fish and a few are getting hard curling gills. Anyone have a idea what it
is? These are people that have several ponds in the yard. Have been
watergardeners  and ponders for years.

that dosen't get much light. Even after 2 months there is almost no
accumulation
of bacteria or debris in the filter. As a result the fish have a very hard
RO Units20 Oct 2005 06:54 GMT2
Is anyone using an RO unit?  Why did you choose to use one and have you
since noticed results?
How else have you controlled contaminants in your tap water, or is this
not a big concern with fancy goldfish?

Tap Water PH 8.419 Oct 2005 06:49 GMT3
My tap water stays consistently at 8.4 (6 months).  I'm keeping orandas,
shebunkins, and pearlscale goldfish in 3 tanks.  Would you lower it, or
do you think it best to leave well enough alone?  I know it's a little high.

The 10 gallon rule17 Oct 2005 15:09 GMT6
I'm a newbie to Goldfish care.  I'm seeing over & over the
fecommendation of 1 fish per 10 gallons of tank to start with.  To me
this seems excessive for small juveniles (although I understand the
rationale for older fish).
Criminal Ryukin in prision16 Oct 2005 16:59 GMT4
made some amateur mistakes on my first tank with 3 Ryukin and a
common.  They got sick so I got to learning fast and have brought them
back (mostly) from very poor condition.  Problem is one of the Ryukin
(that didn't get very sick, is now very strong with the medicines, etc
tank goldfish gone blind ?!16 Oct 2005 01:49 GMT8
myself and my father have kept goldfish in our pond outside for years, while
we have had a fair share of problems of pond fish live a long life.
A few weeks ago my girlfriend got a tank and got 5 small goldfish for it,
