Re. Unhappy Fish29 Nov 2005 13:57 GMT1
I had this problem with a fish about a year ago and when it first happened I
put it in a small 10 gallon "hospital" tank, treated the water with
Swimbladder treatment and stayed up ALL night flipping it over and keeping
it upright with a small net when it turned over.
Goldfish has a rupture/hernia/injury?28 Nov 2005 03:08 GMT2
This morning I noticed on the side of one of my three goldfish a pink
bulge.  It looks more like an injury than a disease.  Like, a scale is
missing and a part of the muscle is bulging out, like something
ruptured from the inside or something is bulging out from the inside.

We have a half a dozen goldfish in an outside pond. They mainly appear
happy.
One is a pearl-scale goldfish. We didn't know this when we bought it and
didn't even know such a thing existed. Instead we worried that there was

Hi GF fans,
I am considering the inevitable needs of tank cleaning, and want to bounce
 an idea off of you.
I have an undergravel system, with about and inch +/- of stone. What I

Hello GF fans!
I'm new to this group, and keeping Goldfish. I've been lurking around for
a few days, and have learned a LOT from this group. Let me offer a bit
about how I got into the whole GF addiction . . .
Goldfish addiction......23 Nov 2005 16:54 GMT3
I did it again.  I went to PetsMart today for nothing more than freeze dried
bloodworms and daphnia.  They had just gotten in a new shipment of goldfish
last Friday.  I came home with 2 more pearlscales, 2 black moors and 2
calico telescope eyes I swore I would never buy again.  ...
Pleccy query23 Nov 2005 12:31 GMT3
I recently change my tank 20 gallon tank to a 56 Gallon one for my "not so
little" brood.
I have perfect water balance now for the first time in a year+ as the fish
(10) have a lot more space that my previous 2ft one.
Help!! Rescued Goldfish22 Nov 2005 14:18 GMT2
I live in Louisiana, and I was helping with hurricane clean up when I
found an abandoned goldfish.  The owner left the fish OUTSIDE in a 50
or so gallon aquarium.  The water was thick, green and cold, and the
poor little fish was barely moving.  I couldn't leave him/her (I have

Hi GF fans,
I have been looking more closely at my fish now that I have a few moments
where I'm not working on the tank. While looking at my larger fish,
Sharky, I noticed that he/she is missing several scales. Some on each
Loss of my first goldfish20 Nov 2005 15:25 GMT7
My first goldfish died this morning (suspected bullying from his
tankmates). While i plan to eventually get a successor (who shall be
known as Dante II) I'd kinda like something fixed as a memorial.
So what are the rules for tank ornaments? I cant really engrave a stone
Lighting for aquariums19 Nov 2005 03:03 GMT2
I've always wondered what a metal halide light would do for my 75
gallon full of great looking goldfish.  Has anyone done this?  Is this
type of light good for this fish and live plants?  Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Bug Eyed Goldfish doesn't eat!17 Nov 2005 08:08 GMT1
I just bought two goldfish the other day.  One was a regular goldfish
and the other was one of those bug eyed ones.  Anyway, the pet store
advised me to buy sinking small pellets.  Well, they don't really sink
at all.  The regular goldfish just goes to the surface to eat, but the
