Water world31 Jan 2006 06:32 GMT2
We are living in a world with too many problems and far too few
answers. Many millions regularly go hungry. Increasing numbers are
addicted to drugs. More and more families are breaking up. Incest and
family violence are constantly in the news. The air we breathe and the
Oranges, koi and goldfish.........30 Jan 2006 23:24 GMT3
Not knowing if the food I purchase is dead fresh since I can't find dates
(Hikari is dated) on the containers, I started feeding them oranges.  They
love them and eat them right down to the rinds.  This should cover any need
for vitamin C and offer color pigments to help keep their ...
Smelly tank30 Jan 2006 20:05 GMT17
We have 4 goldfish in our 10 gallon tank, all the fish are fairly small.  We
also have (2) snails as well.  Our tank started smelling pretty bad about a
week ago.  We have had the tank for less than 3 months now.  The water is
crystal clear, but the smell is bad.  I tried changing ...

Looking on the 'net (very dangerous trying to diagnose things on the
'net) but the description seems to follow exactly the fishes behaviour

Black moor resting by heater30 Jan 2006 18:48 GMT66
Hi! I'm relatively new to keeping an aquarium with fish, and here's my
question:
We have 2 black moor goldfish. One of them we had about a year in a 1-gallon
aquarium, and he did fine. A few weeks ago, we moved him to a 10-gallon
"Proper" way to use pH down.30 Jan 2006 02:09 GMT5
Continuing saga of my ill/dying fish.  Took the water to be tested today
seems the pH is a tad high at >7.6, believe that for GF 7.5 is the
"ideal" figure so we went and got  a water testing kit which includes pH
down, pH up and indicator solution, is there a "correct/favourite"
Atheism provides a green light for abortion and queerdom28 Jan 2006 22:38 GMT1
We live in an age of hard choices. Many, for example, are
implacably opposed to abortion, calling it murder of the unborn.
Others feel just as strongly that women have authority over their own
bodies and should decide such a matter for themselves. Many view
Dying (?) fish27 Jan 2006 17:24 GMT5
Have a red and white comet, it appears to be on its last legs, lying at
bottom of tank, only swimming when it has too .  It was brought home from
the pet shop about a year ago, is there anything I can do to put some
zing back into it?  As a year seems a long time for a goldfish but
Koi-lo thred, Religion: Catholics27 Jan 2006 16:28 GMT9
In Catholic countries, you will see people praying in churches and
cathedrals while holding a crucifix or a rosary. The beads of the
rosary are used for counting prayers offered in devotion to Mary. And
it is not difficult to identify nuns and priests, distinctive in their
Jane & Timothy Have A Jaccuzi26 Jan 2006 00:48 GMT4
Bubbles in the tank, moderated with a clothes peg, blowing thru a rock
thing quite firmly,  Jane and Timothy are having a ball diving into
the bubbles, and it only cost me $6.95 to set up, most impressxed.
I've gone crazy......but I will be back soon
Koi-lo dumped on rec.ponds now migrates to goldfish25 Jan 2006 07:36 GMT1
No wonder Carol aka Koi-lo increased her remailers attacks on
rec.ponds. She now on the goldfish group. Not for long;
Wait until they read her track record. And I am pretty sure this group
will be interested in atheism and evolution.
Ammonia25 Jan 2006 03:22 GMT8
Hi, have been doing my water test on my 'cycling' 55 gallon.  I now
have Nitrates 10ppm, Nitrites 0 and Ammonia of 0.25.  The ammonia has
been this for 4 days now.  Will it completley go?  I have a 2 gallon
with a pearlscale in it.  The ammonia readings are the same for it.
Blue and Pink goldfish25 Jan 2006 03:17 GMT1
This year I got enough to start a small breeding colony of blues.  These are
blue when looked down on having no yellow or gold at all.  Very pretty if
not flashy fish.  The pinks are clear, translucent Shubunkins with long fins
and dark eyes.  They're not albinos.  They're as hardy ...
