Goldfish keep dying29 Jan 2007 21:13 GMT10
I have a 55 gallon / 220 L freshwater tank with 12 goldfish in it (mixture
of blackmores, shubunkins and comets). Recently they started dying at the
rate of 1 per week, so we end up replacing 4 a month. The oldest are 2 years
old.
Comet-weird behavior29 Jan 2007 07:32 GMT1
Hi, I am new to this group. It is cool to know that there is a group
out there like this. Anyway, I have a question about my comet
goldfish. He seems to be having issues getting to the bottom of the
tank, like he has to work extra hard to get down there. As a result he

daughter-she brought home some fish used for decorations at her high school
prom and after 4 of 6 died in the little fish bowl she found I ...

feeder fish?19 Jan 2007 00:47 GMT11
Yet another question.  A lot of pet shops in our area sell feeder fish, they
say they are rosy barbs.  But when I look up rosy barbs, that's definitely
not what they are.  These fish look a bit like tiger barbs, but without the
reddish colouring.

So what's the general consensus on using undergravel filters?  Are they good
or bad?

Pond sealer & dead plants10 Jan 2007 04:31 GMT38
A few months ago we applied a 'pond sealer' as our concrete based pond had
sprung a leak.
Since then all has been fine with the fish & no leaking. They have even
spawned & we have young goldfish (fanatails & shebunkins) thriving in a
