| Lighting | 25 Feb 2007 12:30 GMT | 2 |
When setting up a tank and you get to the lighting bit you get a choice of bulb to use. I think they are tropical or freshwater. Which one deters the typical green tinge to the water and ornaments. TIA

| Sick Fish - peeling lips | 10 Feb 2007 01:42 GMT | 17 |
I have a goldfish that has been doing ok for over a year. She is about 10" long. Suddenly she is having problems with the skin on her lips peeling off. I know it irritates her, as she is having periods of thrashing about, trying to dislodge the loose pieces. Her slime coat seems ok, ...

| young goldfish defect | 09 Feb 2007 01:47 GMT | 3 |
Defect may not be the correct word (depends on your outlook maybe). I have a young goldfish (< 1 year) which, as best as I can tell, has its intestine sticking out of its butt about a cm. Not sure when this happened, but it has been noticable for about a month or so. Apart from

| Plants | 05 Feb 2007 01:22 GMT | 5 |
I have enjoyed putting live plants in our 55 gallon aquarium. The aquarium gets no sunlight though and the plants only seem to last 2-3 months. Luckily we have a 10 gallon tank pretty much right in the sunlight, so I move them to the smaller tank when they get to looking bad and ...

| carp/koi in a tank? | 04 Feb 2007 22:49 GMT | 17 |
I used to keep goldfish, but I no longer have them. I am thinking of putting carp or koi in a 10 gal tank. Maybe only a small one, or up to 3 small ones. Is that ok? Or are they strictly for ponds? I know this may not be the forum, but are carp or koi ok if it's a feng

| Underwater filter | 03 Feb 2007 15:23 GMT | 25 |
I have a 10gal tank and have been using a mini filter for many years now - the type that hangs on the side of the tank. It needs to be changed and I am wondering about changing to an underwater filter. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or suggestions etc.?
