The packs that I've seen on sale come in different sizes & look like small, white bricks .... although some are circular / coin shaped. It seems that the sizes depend upon how long you are away from the tank,

| Nitrite issues | 28 Sep 2007 16:11 GMT | 2 |
My tank has been cycling for some time now and it looks like I'm finally in the home stretch--ammonia down to zero, Nitrite having recently dropped from 2 ppm to 0.5 ppm--but things seem to be stalled there. It's been 12 days since ammonia dropped to zero and five since nitrite ...

OK, its been a week since my last update. To briefly recap, one of my goldfish ("goldie", a fantail) got a very bad case of pop-eye around mid-august. A severe case of dropsy appeared overnight in early September. See past posts for more

I hope I'm not jinxing anything by sending this post. Goldie appears to be recovering. This morning the swelling/bloating had definitely gone down some, although she is still a blimp. And I think the pineconing has reduced some.
