ginea pig ears21 Sep 2003 01:53 GMT1
One of my pigs has large floppy ears, the other has little ears which stand
straight up and which gives it the appearance of constant surprise !! Why do some
have such large ears? was it originally to aid heat loss in a hot climate?
(as for elephants)
suspect mail/virus warning21 Sep 2003 01:19 GMT18
I am receiving a lot of 'high risk' (possible virus) email through both my
guinea pig related email addresses. Someone is  processing the reply addresses posted
in this group. The emails usually mention....'security update'..microsoft update'
warnings etc......microsoft never send ...
how far along?19 Sep 2003 21:45 GMT7
We adopted a new pig about 6 weeks ago.  At the time she looked like what my
kids call a teenager.  Not a new born, but starting to elongate and look
older.  Two weeks ago she started to look like she was gaining weight in the
tummy area.  One week ago we decided she was getting fat ...
my pig and his rabbit19 Sep 2003 19:54 GMT2
Hi, its been a while since I've posted anything about Duncan (my piggie).
He is now about 13 months old. I used to have problems with him biting quite
a bit but he seems to have outgrown that.  Being the pet of a college
student, he has learned to travel quite nicely.  Over the ...
Traveling with Pigsters17 Sep 2003 21:05 GMT1
Can anyone help me with this one. Can GPs fly on a plane? I know dogs & cats
are given a mild shot to let them sleep but can they do this with our cute
little pigsters?
Would the airlines let you bring the GP on board with you? I know some
My Lawn17 Sep 2003 13:12 GMT11
has been virtually nibbled away to nothing and the piggies are fed up
with not much grass. The lack of rain didnt help although I hosed the
lawn every other day . I sweep up the piggies poo because it soils the
lawn.
need Bedding/floor help14 Sep 2003 16:51 GMT4
Hello, I have a question about bedding.
So far I have been using the wood chips, because
the lady that gave me her pig gave me the bag.
It was one of those 3 foot tall bags,  but I don't like
Pigs and supermarkets14 Sep 2003 01:15 GMT5
Here is some 'Americana' for the historians.....The forerunner of todays
supermarkets was invented by Clarence Saunders who opened a 'self serving'
store in Memphis,Tennessee in 1916. He called this store...'Piggly Wiggly' !!
(yes this is true)....wouldn't it be nice to think the ...
New guinea pig parents!  Nervous initial observations13 Sep 2003 20:10 GMT4
Thanks very much for all the help I've gotten here in the past couple of
days.  My wife and I got two boy guinea pigs last night.
We did try the local humane society, but they only had one boy guinea pig
and we wanted either two girls or two boys who were used to each other, so
Travelling with guinea pigs13 Sep 2003 17:24 GMT4
Sorry, meant to ask this question with my previous posting, as well.
Do the guinea pigs handle travelling (driving for about 3-4 hours) OK?  Do
they prefer night-time driving or day-time?
Thanks again,
Is it really bad to get just one guinea pig?12 Sep 2003 23:36 GMT4
My wife and I want to get a couple of guinea pigs, but the local pet stores
have one boy and one girl, respectively.  I know we shouldn't let them live
together unless we want a bunch of little 'uns running around.
I know they are social animals and should have company... but would ...
Depressed Piggy12 Sep 2003 16:01 GMT5
I had one of my pigs die about 6 weeks ago. Anyways, his cage mate has been
having a really rough time with it.
Before Sedgewick died (the older of the two) Stokes was always a bit of a
fraidy-pig, but I think Sedgewick made him get out and do things. Stokes was
Diabetes in Piggies12 Sep 2003 06:41 GMT8
I need some advice.  I suspect one of my pigs has diabetes.  She
doesn't have cataracts, and hasn't lost weight yet (in fact,
she's fat), but she's urinating a _lot_.
She's going on a diet right away, avoiding fruits and carrots,
Mimz, would you still like to have that saver?12 Sep 2003 01:45 GMT2
Hi Mimz,
Some time ago (14/8/03)  I posted a screen saver offer here and you replied
you'd like your cute piggies pics in a saver. Maybe you allready took up on
William Mosher's advice on making your own saver in XP?
Putting a pig on a diet11 Sep 2003 03:24 GMT1
As some may recall, I posted back in late July about the fall Eleanor
suffered.  Six weeks later, she's doing very well--a slight limp, but the vet
said I could expect that.
Anyway, Eleanor has not been inclined to keep her activity level high while on
