Litter Training Babies07 Nov 2003 17:10 GMT1
Our pig is due to deliver sometime in the next two weeks.  Currently we do
not use any bedding in her pen.  She uses her litter box with 98% accuracy.
We have cozies and flannel beds for her to sleep with.  She is strickly
indoors.  When the babies come should I put in carefresh ...
Picky Pigs07 Nov 2003 15:31 GMT2
I was just watching the second episode of Friends tonight.  Apparently
Princess likes comedies; she was in her igloo all evening until Friends
came on, and the door was facing away from the TV.
Over the course of the show, Princess came out of her igloo and (aside

I am incredibly jealous of those of you who have Guinea pigs
that care enough to bite.
Once my sow actually screamed when I caughter. Screamed
like a little girl.
about the pneumonia piggie07 Nov 2003 12:44 GMT2
Today I have a very sad announcement to make.
Gompie, the pneumonia piggie has passed the rainbow bridge.
Her heart was to big that caused the lung problems , but the most worse is
the fast that she did miss a vital part of her bones in her shoulder, caused
An update on "the girls"06 Nov 2003 21:59 GMT8
So, at +5 years, our piggies are slowing down but, all things considered,
are doing fairly well.  They went for a communal vet visit this past week.
Here's some of the highlights:
First off, Suzy (3 lbs-8oz = 1600 grams, a Very Big Girl) has an extra bulge
Rosti has passed06 Nov 2003 15:58 GMT8
since many people here knew him, i have the sad duty to announce that
our much loved boar Rosti has passed over the bridge today.
He had shown signs of illness last week, the vet diagnosed an enlarged
kidney. I know that there is no suitable treatment for this, he was a
Biting spoiled piggies05 Nov 2003 19:16 GMT3
I belong to this snot of a guinea pig, who likes to be scratched under
his chin and/or behing his ears. If you're scratching the wrong place
you get bit. Not hard, you couldn't even call it a nip, but it's for
sure a "No, the other ear, you dumba**!"
Cage donation05 Nov 2003 11:53 GMT2
I'm heartbroken that this afternoon my guinea pig passed away. He was
just about 5 years old and I had him since he was a baby. I've decided
this is my last pet. I will donate all my extra money to animal rights
and rescue orgs but can't deal with losing any more animals.
guinea pig tears04 Nov 2003 17:35 GMT4
I asked about this before but I didn't get a reply.  When Moo grooms
himself, he squirts out a milky white substance from his tearducts.  What
the heck??!!

In France too, we breed cavies.
I have nearly 200 guinea pigs at home (OK it's a big home).
My main variety is Agouti (gold, silver,...) but there are some black self,
himalayans, dutch, peruvians and Shelties.
light brown poop, not eating as much03 Nov 2003 14:23 GMT4
Hi, our guinea pig, Cheeseball, is starting to get these symptoms, and she's
also not eating as much as she used to.  She never ate much pellets, but she
always gobbled up the fresh fruits and vegetables, and most of her hay.  Her
poop is also a light brown which I've never seen ...

This morning my mother unexpectadly popped her head into my
door and said Talulah has had her baby. :) I've been gifted with pig.
She had 2 pigs, but one was born dead.  :(
The one that was born dead,  would have looked like
In NJ- any good places for piggie nail clippings?02 Nov 2003 22:48 GMT2
I've gone to a vet a few times.  The one vet is great, the other one my piggie
(Gizmo) screamed like a banshee.  Anyway, it runs about $50.  I cannot do it
myself, don't have the knack.  Is there anywhere besides a vet to go for a
cheaper nail clipping inbetween vet visits, like ...

Or rather captures from a webcam.
But finally, they show themselves.
