Hi Pigsters,
It is I Hal107 a.k.a. Peter.  The Piggies are all well and happy.
Please don't mind me while I plant an e-mail address for those nefarious
ne'er-do-well spammers to harvest.
Calgary Guinea Pig Rescue08 Dec 2003 04:33 GMT2
I contacted Shelley and finally got a response today.
The rescue was closed down in August.  :(
She said I should contact the Humane Society, as they've had a lot of
piggies dropped off lately.  So I will try them, thought I looked on the
curled up legs06 Dec 2003 22:09 GMT3
Hi I am new to the group and to guinea pigs (got ours in August). I
just picked up a new little guy from my sisters as she was out of town
and our day to feed her animals. He was very small and thin and
hobbled around. Upon checking him out, his little front legs are bent

Another Piggy?06 Dec 2003 06:15 GMT2
The Calgary Guinea Pig Rescue site is still down; does anyone know if
they're still in operation?
I was thinking today that it might be good to get Princess a friend
sooner rather than later.  She's becoming more social now, and I think
Yellow pigs05 Dec 2003 20:59 GMT3
Dear Group,
What are these lovely yellow-colored short haired pigs?  I've got two
pictures on my Guinea Pig calendar.
One is a butter-yellow, the other is almost daffodil-yellow.  Are they
So long Pepper05 Dec 2003 13:29 GMT5
A few of you will remember my infrequent posts about Pepper, our
pig-who-lived-under a hat.
He passed on yesterday, at the age of 5+1/2. We burried him in the garden
next to his brother, and in the mexican hat that he liked so much. ( He

My baby pig04 Dec 2003 17:00 GMT2
Well, my baby pig is never going to like me.
She is so attached to her parents that she screams and
squeals when I pick her up.  Then I let her down, and
she runs straight to her mother and hides.
Guinea Pig, free to good home.04 Dec 2003 14:58 GMT5
I have a newborn in the house and he's allergic so the wife says one of them
has to go.  Jingles is 3 years  old, clean, quiet, and friendly.  He's good
with children and my non-allergic 5 year old loves playing with him.  He
comes with his own cage, 1/2 bag of food, bag of hay, and ...

This is for the people out there who have a male un-neutered cavy,

Do you ever let them visit, and if you do, how so?
I have to let them visit, Arthur looks so sad sometimes

After hearing much discussion about endive I thought I would try some for my
herd. Went to the fruit market and bought what I thought was endive.. the
GPs loved it! Then when my husband went back the next day he came home with
endive that looked very different. I checked the receipt ...
I think Daisy has gone blind in one eye!04 Dec 2003 01:19 GMT8
Dear group,
I was snuggling with Daisy today and her right eye is totally white!  Oh

I think I may have seen some cloudiness yesterday but I thought it was
calluses on paws03 Dec 2003 12:26 GMT3
Today while holding my Patches I noticed a hard callous on the outside edge
of both her paws. Her bedding is wood shaving and none of my other piggies
have these sores. Wondering if they are painful for her or if I should clip
them or rub some vegetable oil or other substance on ...
