Hermione's babies29 Jan 2004 02:45 GMT8
Hermione had her babies overnight or this morning.  Three black fuzzballs in
the corner.
So far no big movement but they all feel warm and I saw one move a bit.
Is there a way I can check that they are ok?  All appear to have been

Here's some pictures of our new family "hot off the press".
Born sometime around dawn this morning to proud parents Hairy and Hermione!
Enjoy!

Non guinea pig question28 Jan 2004 14:30 GMT8
I have a website with a discussion forum. I'm sick of dealing with the forum
part of it, and am about ready to cut that part of it out.
Before I do, I though I'd ask here if enough people would be interested in a
private forum to warrent keeping part of it up. If I did, I'd need ...
Poor piggies28 Jan 2004 10:25 GMT3
I went away for a holiday (2 1/2 weeks) leaving my piggies to the care
of an adult friend. He fed them well. He added hay.
When I came back, the cages had things growing in them. All piggies had
mites and were not looking the best at all.
Hazel is continuing to improve!25 Jan 2004 16:51 GMT2
Hazel -- remarkably!!! -- is continuing to improve.  I had to call the vet's
office today to find out how long to keep her on the antibiotics.  When we
started her on them last weekend, the vet and I were both thinking in terms
of easing Hazel's misery in her final days, not ...
Terminology24 Jan 2004 04:46 GMT6
I've been doing some searches to see if I could find the proper term (if
any) for a baby Guinea Pig and was suprised to find there does not seem to
be a consensus on many of the terms.  Perhaps it's a regional difference?
Here's what I've found so far:
I know you all will understand!23 Jan 2004 18:07 GMT2
So on Christmas afternoon, Mom handed me this gift bag (we do presents
after church and lunch on Christmas Day).  I took out the tissue from
the top, and there was RAY!  The guinea pig from the Blockbuster
commercials!  I was *so* incredibly excited, I think I was vibrating and
How is Hazel doing?23 Jan 2004 16:06 GMT1
Patricia,
I am anxious to hear how the tenacious Hazel is. I hope she has continued to
improve and is almost back to her happy self. We have been thinking of you.

Oxbow in Calgary?  Also cage options23 Jan 2004 05:00 GMT4
Does anyone know how I could possibly get ahold of the Cavy Cuisine by
Oxbow?  I was at their site, but it appears that I can't order from them
because I'm Canadian.  I'm also curious about their straw litter - how
is it for piggies?
Two neutered males together?22 Jan 2004 12:58 GMT4
It is a while since I last posted as having 14 little pigs to care for as
well as kids etc, is hectic.  We currently have 9 girls and one neutered
male in one herd.  Do you think it would be possible for another neutered
male to be accepted into the herd?
A new pig in the cage20 Jan 2004 03:42 GMT1
First of all - sorry my english... But I'm from Denmark.
I have two guinea pigs (females) who are 2 years old. Now I would like to
have a new young female guinea pig. How schould I bring them together? I
only have one cage.  Schould I take them out on the flor? On my knees? Or

Piggies like cheese?...I'm new at piggies; used to rats. They eat
anything. Even had a rat liked Budweiser. Chuckie
High Strung...19 Jan 2004 17:19 GMT1
I know Piggies are overly nervous and exicitible. How long does it take
to tame them down? Iv'e had Pokey about 2 months now and take him out
when I can...he seems to be in the groove....rattle a bag and oink oink
oink. But he still don't trust me. Pees on me also. Chuckie
