One of my males bites!!! I think he does it because he wants down....What
should I do??? He is a precious little troublemaker named "Puck"
Also I've tried newspaper & carefresh but neither seems to control odor or keep
them dry!!! I clean out their cages every other day!!! What kind ...
Piggy playing freeze tag18 Feb 2004 14:52 GMT1
My girl Abbie only moves inside the cage. I can put her just about
anywhere and she will just stand there like a stuffed animal, maybe
twitching her nose, but that's it. The other day I took some pictures
of them and with Abbie I put her right on the kitchen "island" and the

and now they range from 165 - 210 grams!

Hungry Pig!17 Feb 2004 11:38 GMT4
I've had a pair of pigs (plus a new baby born Tuesday) for two weeks
and now that they're forming strong behavior patterns and I'm getting
to know them better, I have some questions.
One question I have is about food and specifically, how much is too

Picky piglett17 Feb 2004 11:32 GMT2
Arnold must be the most picky pig going, he is extremely choosy regarding
his dried food. our sparrows must be the fattest in the country as most of
it ends up on the lawn. Does any one have the same problem and if so what
other food is there to tempt His Lordship with?
Possible to wean themselves early?17 Feb 2004 11:31 GMT2
The "runt" of our litter (nickname brown-butt) doesn't seem to nurse.  He's
(I'm pretty sure it's a he) always been a bit of a loaner and is the calmest
of the bunch.
Brown-butt was the first to use the water bottle when he was about a week
Doggie Worries17 Feb 2004 11:28 GMT3
My parents will be living with us temporarily for half a year or so. They
have a wonderful dog, Tuffy.
The few times he's been around our piggies he's seemed to view them as new
and exciting snacks, and this scares me to death. When we go camping Tuffy
Odd Little Piggy17 Feb 2004 11:25 GMT2
My best friend came over last night and we sat on the couch talking for
a while.  Princess' cage is now in my office (half of the living room,
it has a lino floor), and she came out of her igloo and sat and *watched
us* while we talked and watched TV.  It was *weird*.
Should I be concerned?17 Feb 2004 07:23 GMT2
I heard an odd sqawk from Princess and looked in to check on her, and
she'd apparently just had a bowel movement.  The 'pellet' is an inch
long, and thicker than her usual stool.
Should I be concerned, or is she probably okay now that this is out of
GP Shows??15 Feb 2004 13:09 GMT2
I have 4 guinea pigs, 2 of which I would like to show, but I know nothing and I
was hoping I could find some resources to more about showing, and if there will
be any shows in the New England area this year. So if any one knows any good
sites on shows, I would greatly appriciate it ...

damp eyes and I knew something was wrong . She saw the vet with in a
Help needed with "sexing" baby GP's14 Feb 2004 17:46 GMT6
Well, those 4 little guys just get cuter every day...
Before we can decide how many of them to keep and how many to adopt out, we
need to figure which piggies are boys and which are girls.  So far we have
more people who want one than we have pigs but we'll see if that changes
sick piggie Ginger14 Feb 2004 13:48 GMT1
Hi guinea pig enthusiasts,
My boyfriend noticed two weeks ago that Ginger our two year old female
guinea pig was a bit on the light side, and it so shocked me that she'd
lost so much weight too. She was basically only skin and bones.
Update on Beall and sad news14 Feb 2004 11:25 GMT2
Beall seems to be ok still, the growth hasn't changed at all and we are
arranging to take her to a specialist guinea pig vet soon as the vet we saw
recommended we get it checked out by an expert, but that in her opinion it
isn't life threatening or causing any upset at the moment.
