Alexander went to the Bridge today16 Apr 2004 20:49 GMT10
Hello group,
This is to let you know that my little friend Alexander died today.
He had a lump under his chin, which had been surgically removed by the vet
on Monday 6 April. He got better really quickly, he didn't seem to be
lump under chin15 Apr 2004 13:21 GMT5
I have just discovered a lump under Alexander's chin and I'm wondering what
it is. It's quite large, but not really visible through all the fur, you
really have to feel this particular spot to notice it. I was holding and
petting him and suddenly I felt this lump. Maybe anyone can ...
teeth checking14 Apr 2004 01:34 GMT5
With one of my pigs in particular, if i get a really vigorous
scratch going behind the ears and on top of the head, it will lift
its head (the same as cats do) and open its mouth a little. I find
this an excellent way of checking their teeth....
Replying to Beans message!13 Apr 2004 22:01 GMT2
To Bean,
I am replying to your letter because I am angry at the moment.
I know what you are getting to here but I really don't think they would cook guinea pigs would be on a burger.
I really dont think what Toa said was appropriate!
eating GPs and other pets11 Apr 2004 16:50 GMT8
I might make lots of enemies bringing this up but the posts lately have had
me thinking.
Let's say Tao has eaten a GP. How is this any different from having your
hamburg for supper tonight?  I don't mean to turn anyone off of meat but
Our Pet Troll and his Tera News10 Apr 2004 05:19 GMT23
Hi dear group,
I just contacted Tera News in Indiana.  Gave them all of the pet troll's
info.  (I used my handy-dandy web tool box to get it.)
Look at this web site : http://www.teranews.com/
how many guinea-pigs are too many09 Apr 2004 21:51 GMT1
I had a friend who had 3 guinea-pigs in a 2x4 foot cage.  The female
got pregnant and had several babies.  They gave all the babies away
except 2.  That left them with a total of 5 guinea-pigs.  They tried
to keep up with changeing the bedding and such but within a matter of

I have always hand feed my GP's little treats....they would take
it from my hand and eat it...now they will NOT eat it unless i
continue to hold it for them. Who is 'training' who here?

update on Alexander07 Apr 2004 00:53 GMT2
I took Alexander to the vet this morning. The lump I discovered last Friday
was an abscess which had to be lanced, hence my appointment this morning. I
left him there and went to work. I called around noon, to see how he was
doing, and it turns out he had been operated upon! His ...

my sick piggy06 Apr 2004 20:20 GMT5
Dear Group
My 2 year old indoor Guinea pig has been off colour since (not her usual
self ask for green food) Sunday, however over the last two days she has been
eating a great deal less and her fur is standing up more usual, so a lot
The little boy is growing up!06 Apr 2004 10:30 GMT2

We have now had him over a month which will make him around 3 months old.
He has grown considerably and his bum is now a great deal pointier than when
we first got him!  He is outgrowing his SAM cage so we'll be buying a new

Guinea pig redemption04 Apr 2004 19:31 GMT3
My first experience with a guinea pig was tragic. In the seventh grade, I
was over at my friend Jason's house and we were shoving 10-inch dandelion
stalks down his guinea pig's mouth.
The guinea pig had this glassy-eyed look and it just kept on eating and
neutering question04 Apr 2004 19:06 GMT2
Until recently we had 2 boars and 2 sows, but sadly one of our boars died
unexpectedly. Rather than try to introduce a new boar we have had Multi-pig
neutered so he can live with our 2 sows.
How long after neutering should he be kept seperated from the girls?
