Big Pig's got cystitis!15 May 2004 20:36 GMT9
Big Pig has cystitis!  Took him to the vet man this morning and he confirmed
my suspician that poor piggy has it.  Poor thing has been wheeking everytime
he's been going to the toilet.  We've been given some Baytril by the vet to
put in his (new) water bottle and he's had to be ...
What's the best food holder?11 May 2004 05:38 GMT14
My GP's knock over their dish immediately, even though it's shaped like a
dog dish, with the bottom bigger than the top.  I also tried a few of the
kind that you hang on the side of the cage.
One of them, the food came out too easily and they wound up making a mess
Update on Big Pig (part 2)10 May 2004 19:01 GMT3
It is with sad news that I have to say Big Pig crossed the bridge this
morning.
I was't happy he hadn't been eating and decided to take him to our local vet
first thing this morning.  The vet decided to keep him in and said he'd put
New cheap, dumb toy they love10 May 2004 14:30 GMT5
I don't think I'm ever going to buy my piggies "toys" because I swear,
the cheaper it is, the better they like it. Today I bought a few
bottles of wine and liqueur for a party and while putting it away, I
took one of the paper bags the wine had been in and tossed it in the
Shy and jealous pig09 May 2004 16:54 GMT2
My mother pig (talulah) is the shy one in the family.
She resembles a black self, and she is so
hard to catch I sometimes give up. But on the occasions
I do catch her, she lays right down, and gets comfy.
Update on Big Pig09 May 2004 09:01 GMT2
Just thought I'd start a new thread on Big Pig and let you all have an
update.  It's now day three of treatment and Big Pig is wheeking less when
he goes to the loo, however, he still wheeks a little and the characteristic
jumps when he passes urine.  I've been syringing ...

I just bought 4 lbs of Timothy Hay seed.  Does anyone have experience
growing their own hay?
Also, how best to dry & store it.

Bedding07 May 2004 23:48 GMT16
Right now, we're using the pine shavings that our hamsters use, but I get
the idea from the website Mira mentioned that straw is what people use.  And
looking at John W.'s photo, it looks like he uses sand.
What IS the best bedding?
rehoming pig in central Scotland06 May 2004 22:25 GMT3
My beloved pal died earlier this week, leaving her chum rather lonely so I
am looking to adopt a female as a companion for her.
Does anyone know of any rehoming centres in central Scotland?

Sad day...06 May 2004 15:10 GMT13
My mother is in a Nursing Home close to where I live where they have lots of
animals to keep the residents company.  GP, a five-year old sow has been
there since my mom moved in 3 years ago and we've gotten quite attached to
her.
