not using front leg30 Dec 2004 21:03 GMT2
I suddenly noticed that Sebastiaan is limping, he's not using his right
forepaw. I checked for swelling, heat or redness, but no signs of
inflammation. It happened really sudden, because I cuddled with him earlier
today and he was still fine then. I called the vet and she advised me ...
Kwik Stop Styptic Nail Power29 Dec 2004 22:03 GMT9
I just got MY fresh supply Kwik Stop Styptic Powder in the mail for
Scooter--was running short because of someone else's having so many
piggies that I've had to clip the nails on (and spilling it
accidentally).
THEY'RE HERE!!29 Dec 2004 06:19 GMT11
Our Cinder had her litter today--FOUR guineas.  One sow and three boars.
The sow is named Lily, and the boars are named Popcorn, Parsley, and
Pipsqueak (the smallest one).  They are SO CUTE!
I didn't get to witness the birth, but came in shortly thereafter and saw a

Do guinea pigs have to have some sort of gnawing post for their teeth?
I ask because one of mine has taken to chewing  against the wooden house box
( the sleeping  box) in their cage.
Very cute!26 Dec 2004 21:28 GMT5

Chester (Bleeding Ear) Update26 Dec 2004 13:09 GMT2
Hi guys and gals,
Well Chester had the ear cleaned revealing a scab-like thing with icky
brown puss behind it.  This was all cleaned out and he was given a
rimadyl and a baytril injection; he was then kept in for observation
Extra Toes Etc.....25 Dec 2004 06:53 GMT2
I clipped the nails on the toes of a guinea who had a 4th toe on each
back foot
Most normal piggies have 4 toes on the front of each foot and  3 on the
back

Chilly Apartment24 Dec 2004 19:55 GMT6
HI all...this is my first time posting, and my first time owning a guinea
pig, so bare with me.
I live in a decently sized one bedroom apartment heated by hot water
radiators. I have two cats as well as an adult female guinea pig. I have
Merry Christmas from Elisa, Daisy and Gerbil-boi!24 Dec 2004 01:14 GMT2
Hello dear group!
I know that I've been absent for a long time, but all is well! Everyone
is fat and happy (well, I'm happy but not fat ;-)

Scooter.....23 Dec 2004 20:40 GMT8
Scooter likes being in bed (behind my knees)    with me as long as I
leave him alone and let him settle himself in.  I had to finally get him
to his home to use the "toilet".  I suppose he liked the warm spot he
had.  Stayed there a long time.....Carful not to roll on him
doggy/piggy friendship?21 Dec 2004 06:03 GMT9
This group was quite helpful re: my preggie piggy, so I thought I would
put another matter before you.
Can dogs and guinea pigs be friends?  I have two female piggies, and two
dogs.  The female dog, Pepper, is quite interested in the piggies... and
Kale20 Dec 2004 23:30 GMT3
We've got some left over in the fridge because I ordered to much for a
recipe....It's probably not going to get used, so I was wondering if it's
okay for pigs to eat.  They love lettuce, and though the taste is a bit
different, I can't think of any reason that it would be unsafe.
friend for my guinea20 Dec 2004 00:29 GMT1
I am thinking about getting a friend for my guinea.  Do you think two
guinea pigs would get along?
    Thanks,
Lauren
