Mastitis30 Jan 2005 23:24 GMT3
Just when we are wrestling with the abscess at the neutering incision site
on Prince, one of our females, Panda, developed a case of mastitis.  First
clear fluid then blood could be expressed.  She is now on the same meds that
Prince is on.
Good News and Bad News30 Jan 2005 22:12 GMT13
Well the good news bit is that Nosey is now seven years old.
The bad bit is that he is not well. I have had to clip his back teeth every 3
weeks or so, for the last 2 years (he broke his front teeth just before Xmas
2004 and things were never wuite right after that).

Our old girl is depressed?29 Jan 2005 16:29 GMT4
Howdy folks:
I wrote about this back in December, regarding when we lost our beloved "Scotchie".  Her sister "Cocoa" went into a deep funk.  Here's an excerpt of what we wrote about it back on December 10:
It is tough, as Scotchie's sister Cocoa seems absolutely lost.  She has been
Dancing Guinea Pig28 Jan 2005 23:55 GMT6
A few weeks ago, someone posted a link to ao dancing, singing guinea pig,
who sang about the "guinea pig way of life" (LOL)
Just wondering if anyone still had it around; I thought I bookmarked it, but
I seem to have lost it...thanks in advance :)
popcorning?28 Jan 2005 23:16 GMT15
baby butterscotch used to do it all the time.  five months later and it
doesn't happen anymore?  do they stop as they get older?
TOYS!!!!28 Jan 2005 01:49 GMT9
I know GPs get extremely bored and lonely.  What kind of Toys do you all
like to give your Guineas.  Missy has several chew sticks, but she still
likes to knaw on her cage instead.  We don't like this habit and are afraid
she is going to harm herself.  Since we both work she is ...
Adopted!27 Jan 2005 12:45 GMT6
Howdy folks!
Cocoa has a new friend!
We've been pondering what to do to pull Cocoa out of her depression since
her sister Butterscotch passed this past December.  Things had gotten better
Blankets!!!27 Jan 2005 09:01 GMT2
Scooter loves a messed up blanket--his personal "private" playground--
To heck with Ma, the blanket's MINE!
When I make the bed, straightening the blanket---then he gives me
attention.

We picked up our two new boys yesterday.  They had just been neutered and
were groggy.
I bought a new pool (they went up to $17 CDN from $15 by the way at Canadian
Tire) and put new blankets (not washed ones from our girls).  And I got new

Depression?????25 Jan 2005 17:49 GMT8
8 weeks ago, we bought a guinea pig, who was about 10 weeks old.  She was
one of two female pigs we bought at the same time.
She seems depressed?  Is this possible in a guinea pig?  :
- Spends most of the day in her bed
