Laundry issues?25 Jan 2005 17:32 GMT5
For those of you who use fabric instead of shavings as bedding, how do
you maintain your washer?  I'm having issues because some timothy hay is
getting left behind in the washer thing.  I get out as much as I can
each time I wash up, but of course I can't get it all.  I shake out ...

Hay to all,
Me and my wife are new to this site and was wondering.  How often should
a GP be give Veggies and treats?  We've read several books and none of them
are very clear on this subject.  We've had Missy for a while and we want to

Pigs benefit from Martin Luther King Day banquet!22 Jan 2005 00:15 GMT1
My husband and I attended a fund-raising banquet that was to honor
Martin Luther King. A couple of local foundations bought tables, but
then didn't send anyone to the banquet, so these tables remained empty
through the event.
breeding a skinny girl?18 Jan 2005 23:58 GMT8
I have a female "skinny pig" named Gabby PigPigPig. She sleeps with me every
night  I also have other GPs.  When is the best time to breed her? I know
its supposed to be before 7 months old, but no one says when it's too
early....I don't want to put her at risk, but I definitely ...
We tried...18 Jan 2005 23:54 GMT2
Howdy folks:
My youngest daughter Rachel and I went down to the Petsmart that is South of
our town.  We were picking up some kibble and other things.  Rachel always
looks at the baby guinea pigs there...  She noticed one laying down in the
Free-Roaming?18 Jan 2005 01:44 GMT1
I've used boxes to block off the dangerous cords and the passage from
office to other rooms in the house... Princess and Katonia seem to
really like the situation.  I expect it's more interesting (never mind
more room for them to roam).
Adding more than one male to a female pair17 Jan 2005 01:00 GMT3
http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm
Our advice is based on our experience of combining guinea pigs. The bottom
line is one boar per group of females. We have not been able to successfully
introduce a second boar to one or more females. It's a combination that
Neutering a male16 Jan 2005 17:55 GMT9
I've had piggies for 5 years now but now my sister just got 2 young males.
I told her that her boys may get along fine together but if they have a
fight as they mature that she may have to separate them.  I suggested
neutering one or both.  I had my male neutered some time ago and I ...
Biting on the cage bars16 Jan 2005 04:15 GMT4
This is what I did with Brianna today.........
I walk into the room calling her name with vegetables...she is
interested in my voice and what I have to give her so she is looking and
sniffing.....I praise her and give her vegetables..
Vegetable garden for guinea pigs (and people too!)15 Jan 2005 23:58 GMT19
Since we got our guinea pigs a couple of weeks ago, I've been feeding them
most of their greens from what I have in the winter vegetable garden:
collard greens, chard, and parsley. I also some sugar pea volunteers (that
came up from the peas I planted this spring), and since there's ...
Re : Number of Homeless Pigs14 Jan 2005 01:35 GMT4
Hello dear group and fellow pig lovers,
Such a depressing statistic...
I look at my beloved Daisy and just cannot imagine what would have
happened to her if I hadn't saved
Book recommendation for new GP owners?13 Jan 2005 04:25 GMT7
Our family has two new piggies, our first. We spent a lot of time
reading forums and information online (including this group) but would
also like to add a few books to our bookshelf in order to inform both
ourselves AND those who come over to always borrow books.
Number of homeless guinea pigs13 Jan 2005 00:02 GMT5
I received an email from Glenn the guinea pig guy and it read....(these
are USA statistics)
