Expanses...?28 Feb 2005 16:38 GMT2
I have been asked if I would like two more guinea pigs.  Obviously the
answer is yes, but one must be practical about these things.
They will be free, and come with cage and accessories and everything
else.  I haven't seen them yet; they belong to a friend of the Mom I

Bonnie's face seems to have filled out with age, I suspect she is edging on
fully grown now.  Bracken will be off to the vet again soon as she has (once

Breeding question24 Feb 2005 03:02 GMT4
Diva was born around June or July and the male was I going to breed her with
died last week. My friend now has a new baby male piggy who is a tiny thing.
Can he breed with Diva or will she be too old?
Question about Piggies and smokers..23 Feb 2005 16:56 GMT5
Is it possible that a pig living in the living room with a chain smoker can
die sooner?
The reason I ask is  that my friend had four pigs. Gave one to me and then
two died (one was a sow that gave birth only about three weeks earlier) and
mastitis returned23 Feb 2005 00:49 GMT8
Well despite not missing a dose and milking out the infection a few times a
day, the mastitis which seemed to have resolved is back with a vengeance.
Lots of blood and pain.
The vet gave me the choice of doing a 21 day course of meds or having

Help alternate food needed21 Feb 2005 07:27 GMT8
I was given/rescued 2 guinea pigs this evening (midnight) and I don't have
any pellets or hay.  Can I toast 12 grain bread?
I have already given them dandelions, carrots, small piece of orange and
some baby carrots.  But I know they need the hay and pellets.  I live in NYC
Angry piggie?17 Feb 2005 14:34 GMT10
I have started having a new problem with King Gidera.  He is the older
piggie but also the newest arrival.  We got him several months ago from
the pound and up until recently he was a little skittish but otherwise
fine.  He would come when offered food and we could lift him and ...
Piggie spat!16 Feb 2005 11:09 GMT4
My older guinea pig has recently started making growling noises at the
younger pig.  They have been ok for the last several months.  Just
occasional dominance scurrying and humping (which is rather funny to
watch) when someone gives one attention without doing so for the other.
Everybody into the pool!15 Feb 2005 13:37 GMT1
Well our two ailing pigs are back to good health so we did the girl/boy
introductions yesterday.  The boys continued to tussle, pulling tufts of
hair out, and it couldn't go on.  Following Jane's advice, we had the oven
mitts and cardboard boxes at the ready.
What's wrong with lettuce?14 Feb 2005 07:16 GMT2
I have five guinea pigs and they all love lettuce. The youngest ones have
taken to it and even the older ones seemed to take a nibble.
I am forced at the moment to give them just greens and lettuce and throw in
the occassional brussel top but now that I'm shopping online I am ...
George & Little Pig10 Feb 2005 16:24 GMT1
my partner used to give this group regular updates about our pigs,
we are down to two pigs now, George & Little Pig.
There were four at one time, Colin & George and Big Pig & Little Pig.
Colin passed on over a year ago, and after BP died due to a tumor we left
Feeding time09 Feb 2005 15:33 GMT10
Just watching Katonia eat her pellets (I just cleaned their pool and fed
them all but their nightly veggies)... she always tips the bowl over so
that she can eat it "off the floor" (still out of the bowl, but without
an edge to lean over).  Just wondering if I should come up with ...
New Pigtures of Hermione07 Feb 2005 23:50 GMT3
Hermione got her bath today so I decided to update her pigtures on my
Piggies Wesite.
One of these days, I'll do some new ones of Hairy as well...
