Why no Iceberg?07 Feb 2005 12:22 GMT22
I've been told many times that I shouldn't feed my piggies iceberg lettuce.
I know it's true, but why?  Someone told me that it was because of the high
water content, but that didn't make any sense to me, since my pigs can't
seem to get enough water anyway.
The Girls07 Feb 2005 01:54 GMT1
Last night in a fit of insanity, I figured out how to connect the girls'
cages.  It's the bottom of Princess' cage and the Rubbermaid container
that's Katonia's cage, and then Cubes all around the edges, using the
joiners and twist-ties to keep things connected.  They were ...
Rescue Piggies and new mom06 Feb 2005 00:29 GMT4
I just rescued two male pigs from a lady---she was giving them away, but it
might as well have been a rescue---they were terribly neglected. We just got
them last night, and my husband is out buying coroplast so that we can build
them a much bigger and better habitat...right now ...
RIP Fudge04 Feb 2005 20:18 GMT3
Fudge died this evening after seeing a vet for another apparent case of
bloat enduced by a blockage.  He was given the same medication as before
but shortly after getting home died of a 'fit'.  I am making a picture
rememberance site and will post it when it's ready.  All the ...
Boyish boys update04 Feb 2005 01:06 GMT11
Prince had to go back to the shelter clinic.  He developed a large (2 cm)
abscess at the site of one incision and a smaller one at the site of the
other incision.  I waited a few days after noticing the lump because it
didn't hurt him that much but I should have known.  The vet ...
Boyish boy and bay girl updates (if anyone is left following along)03 Feb 2005 22:15 GMT2
Prince is 99% healed in about  a week (I can't remember exactly).
The abscess site is almost completely closed.  I have been using the iodine
applicator to probe around in what is little left of the cavity just to make
sure it doesn't close with some infection.  I'm fairly certain ...
Chewing03 Feb 2005 20:45 GMT1
Scooter doesn't chew t.p. rolls or his cage at all --any bofy else got a
piggie who does NOT chew t.p. rolls or the cage bars?
He DOES chew wood pieces in his litter and newspaper (even playing with
the pieces he's ripped off)--amusing himself..........
Mites02 Feb 2005 21:36 GMT7
My two GP's have got mites ( one worse than the other, her name is Poppy).
They have both had two doses of the oral ivermecitn and are due another
tomorrow. Poppy has lost quite a bit of hair on her back and shoulders and
seems to still be extremely itchy, she also has some quite ...
Ginger's incisors01 Feb 2005 13:18 GMT8
Dear Group,
Missy Ginger is not using her front teeth.  She has always been a determined
cage biter so I wonder if she traumatized a front tooth.  One of the upper
incisors is very slightly twisted and has a little defect in it near the gum
