| Hutch Preservative | 31 Mar 2005 09:51 GMT | 3 |
I have to put Nell and Flo outside in a hutch for a few days whilst the landlady is inspecting. To this end I bought a reasonably sized hutch today, but it needs sealing with preservative. Does anyone know which types of preservative are guinea-pig and environment friendly?

On February 17 Puck, my oldest piggie, had a severe epileptic seizure. I was cleaning out the cage when it happened. I had placed Puck and Chanda on another level of the piggie flat, to clean out their "apartment" and apparently Puck had fallen into a very deep sleep. When I had ...

I just started reading this group. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with blind and deaf guinea pigs? I adopted a lethal white recently. From what I have read online, he is remarkably healthy. His teeth are fine, he is growing well, gaining weight, and has no ...

| George has a small lump | 27 Mar 2005 16:16 GMT | 1 |
Whist holding George yesterday, I did a routine check around him and discovered a small pea sized lump on the lower part of his abdomen not far under the skin. Never noticed it before. I suppose it could be something as innocent as a cyst. Do vets tend to cut out these sorts ...

I have a female guinea pig and will be taking in another one (due to my cousin's allergies) in the next couple of days. Unfortunately, they don't know the sex of "Buster Baxter". I am not interested in ending up with a bunch of baby guinea pigs for a whole host of reasons. Can ...

| trimming toemails | 26 Mar 2005 01:43 GMT | 9 |
Hi. Does anyone have any hints on trimming piggies nails? I usually go to the groomers. They do a good job but it cost $10.00. With two piggies that's 20 dollars every three weeks or so. Joanne

I read somewhere that piggies are lactos intolerant. True? Would cheese hurt my Pokey or just give him gas..or worse?

Scooter went a little crazy when he was put in Riley and Dillen's cage...... I had a friend QUICKLY remove Scoot from the youngsters. Dilly's ear was bit--but he's ok.

I've been attempting to tame Katonia since last Wednesday (March 9). The preschool I go to in the mornings (with my client) will be doing a unit on pets sometime this spring, and I offered to bring in my girls. Then I realized that I don't actually have a cage big enough for both ...

| Dog | 20 Mar 2005 04:30 GMT | 6 |
We have a 4 year old yellow lab. We haven't introduced her to the new GP yet (although she's sniffing us a lot). She'll probably whine and cry and paw at him. I would love for them to become pals, but I realize it may not work. Any stories to share about how best to do it?
