New Toy!28 Apr 2005 08:23 GMT5
I just got Ceasar a new toy... and I did'nt buy it.  I was cleaning out my
closet, where I found an old pair of pants.  Ceasar was having free time, so
he squirmed over and ran up and down the legs.  He loves it!

New Cage Design Underway!20 Apr 2005 11:36 GMT4
Just a wee note to say I got hold of some cubes via eBay AT LAST!!!  Then I
was most displeased to go to the DIY shop today (B&Q for all you UK folks)
to find the cubes for £6 less than I paid for them.  BLAH!!
Nonetheless, I've been planning the cage for days now.  I gave up on ...
*sigh*20 Apr 2005 11:36 GMT6
Was at the PetCetera today with the kiddo I work with doing respite.
Decided, finally, after careful evaluation of their stock and the
piggies' living arrangements, that I will never buy from them and I'm
going to try to get my charge to be okay with going to PetLand from now
Vitamin C18 Apr 2005 19:38 GMT11
I've been giving my two piggies 1/4 tablet of chlidrens vitamin c daily (25
mg). They also get green or red pepper, tomato, romaine lettuce, carrot and
their pellets. Is this too much vit C?     Joanne
abcess18 Apr 2005 16:23 GMT1
One of our piggies, Rocket, developed an abcess on his bottom.  It came up very very quickly to a large
hot lump.  The emergency vet drained and flushed it and gave us some liquid to continue flushing the
wound for several days.  Its a dreadful horrible thing to have to do as the ...
Taryn is improving!18 Apr 2005 16:16 GMT2
Hey everyone. . just wanted to let you know Taryn has been getting
better and better since yesterday.  She is now eating well on her own,
drinking on her own(although I wish she'd drink more)and moving around
a lot better.  I see glimpses of her old self.  On Friday, we did find
Hair Patch (again)16 Apr 2005 08:21 GMT1
I didn't think that this was a lot to worry about, but it really scares me.
Just in case you guys were wondering, I'm 10 years old.  I asked my dad if i
could take Ceasar to the vet, but he said that i would have to find out more
about it.  I am really worried about my baby, I ...
Update on Taryn. . previously Urgent. .Help!16 Apr 2005 02:27 GMT11
The vet called me late this morning and they found a pocket of gas in
her intestines.  They gave her a banamine injection (for the pain) and
put her on sulfa/trimethoprim antibiotics.  I'm supposed to keep her on
that for 10 days.  He said the prognosis was "guarded."  He gave her
Urgent. .HELP!!15 Apr 2005 01:32 GMT5
It is about 10:30 pm at night and I can't find an emergency vet that
handles guinea pigs.  I just noticed one of my pigs, Taryn, is not
acting right.  Taryn is almost 2 years old and she is always the one to
greet you. .everyday of her life she has done that.  She always takes
Skin Advice14 Apr 2005 16:39 GMT5
I have just cleaned my piggies out and noticed that one of them is losing a
lot of white fur from a patch on his back.  I have taken them to the vets
before about this problem and he gave them a couple of injections and it
seemed to cure the problem.
Drinking Too Much Water?13 Apr 2005 21:54 GMT8
We've noticed that over the past couple of days, Pickle seems to be drinking
a lot more than usual.  Nothing has changed in his surroundings, such as
temperature etc and I was wondering if it's anything to worry about?
He's still quite perky and doesn't seem at all ill, but I ...
