new gp owner31 May 2005 07:36 GMT1
hi, we have 2 boy gp. We hold them and play with them daily, and they still
run around when we try to get them out. Will they get over this, and do they
get "tame" ever so that when you put your hand in they will just come up to
you? Once we catch them, they love being snuggled ...
Piggy birth with a problem...30 May 2005 22:45 GMT2
My friend called me up to her apartment and told me that her pig had two
babies. I got up there and she was resting with both kids snuggled up to
her. We pulled the igloo up and one of the babies had a small cut on it's
neck. It's not bleeding and the birth just happened. What ...

Dillen notices that Riley is hurt though.
what age to introduce pigs?27 May 2005 01:01 GMT4
I posted a couple months or so ago about my new guinea pig, Snowball.
He's a lethal white who is blind and deaf.  Well, he's been growing like
a weed and now is a mature male.
I'm getting him a friend.  I've reserved an incredibly cute little grey
little pigs grow up to be big pigs..26 May 2005 22:30 GMT2
I am sure this has been discussed before here in the
newsgroup....but..what is a baby guinea pig called?...i have heard
different ideas but it seems to me,as we have a female sow and
male boar a little pig can only be a "piglet" and that makes sense

"randy" new boy17 May 2005 21:32 GMT3
I just adopted a 2nd male pig as a companion for my senior pig Lional.
Lional doesn't seem to mind the new guy at all.  The problem is, the new pig
seems to thinks Lional is a girl.  He is constantly running around making
amorous sounds and mounting Lional.  Lional just shakes ...

George has just laid a big poo!16 May 2005 17:02 GMT14
Sorry about the subject line - but there is no other way of putting it.
It's the size of half a man size thumb (assuming all male thumbs are the
same size of mine!!).  It's got some well formed normal poo pellets in there
but also some not so well formed pellets.

Guinea pig grown too independent13 May 2005 09:15 GMT1
I've read from the internet that you have to clean up the male gp's a.s once
in a while with the same stuff they use for cleaning plates. I've heard that
some grease harden up there and don't loosen out, so you have to do it, or
the gp goes about dragging its butt against the ...
neutering11 May 2005 13:39 GMT4
My boy, Harvey, is being neutered next week. I have a female, Kiki, as well.
They are in separate cages. I  have to keep them in separate rooms because
Harvey gets upset when he is near Kiki. I work 12 hour shifts so they are
alone for long periods. They seem so lonely which ...
Sick pig :-(  advice?11 May 2005 06:37 GMT5
I have a 2.5 year old pig.  We thought it was a male, but it turns out
to be a female after all this time!  We got her from a friend, who said
it was a male, and we just always assumed.  No vet ever discovered this
before!  It's kind of weird.
She takes a lot of water10 May 2005 02:18 GMT4
My GP Mathilda is about 2 yrs old. She takes a lot of water from the
water feeder compared to another GP we have who is in a separate cage.
I wondered, is she drinking the water or is she just slopppy taking it
or is the feeder defective?  I put a bowl under the water feeder and it
