most of the books and various internet stuff lists all the places that
are bad for a piggie cage, but fail to say where the right place is.
so where do you all keep your pigs?
If I get one/two I'm still aiming for my kids room.

My hubby and I are looking for ideas/suggestions on how to build our
boys a bigger cage. I've already looked at cavycages.com and I really
like what I see there just can't quite get it to work out in my head
how to go about doing it. Any tips?

I just had to share a cute piggy story.  I have 2 piggies who are VERY
adorable and affectionate with eachother.  Snow is an older white
piggie and her pal Ball is a cute black and white younger boar.  I
needed to give them a bath today, so I got a small dishpan, put it in

Diva has a large bald spot behind her ear. I can't afford to take her to the
vet, so I'm wondering if anyone here knows what it might be and what
treatment I should do.

We will be returning to the States from here in Canada this fall/winter.  We
have four pigs in two pairs.
I am hoping that we can carry them on board in two small dog carriers, one
for each pair, that fit under the seat.

I wonder if Vetinary Pet Insurance would cover Guinea Pigs??

I wonder if anyone has the same problem I have: two of my gps have little
scabs on their rump and behind. It's not a parasite, they've been treated
with ivectomin several times already, and their cagemates don't seem to have

Are guinea pigs smart enough not to eat things that might not be good for
them? I had the pigs running around in the strawberry patch yesterday while
weeding. They had a jolly time running under the strawberry plants and
eating things. They ate grass and dandilions that I'm happy to ...

I have seen my two boys show "mating" behavior.  There is no chance  one
could be a girl--both have very evident testes
But I have also seen this behavior some with the females I have had in
the past

I've been writing about our 2.5-ish year old boy Bud.  Sadly, Bud
passed away Wednesday morning.  We had really been considering putting
him down, as his eating and drinking slowed almost to nothing the past
couple days, but Wed morning he was making a very weird noise, we knew

I have a loaner piggie - extended loan, since the owner is out of the
country, and owner's mom is allergic to everything.  Age uncertain but
certainly in the "senior' category, as am I (Just barely).
She (the piggie, not the mom) has been doing fine on commercial feed plus

Just to let everyone know he was constipated but also paralysed in both rear
legs
there was nothing the vet could do
we had him put to sleep yesterday

I have a 6 months female in the same cage as a 3 months boy as I wanted them
to mate but so far the woman is not pregnant.
is it too early ( they have been together for one and half month) , could be
anything wrong ?
