We have a young cavy about 3 weeks old, and today, his rear area is extended and bloody. I think it is his rectum? The wife has tried to clean it, and he doesn't appear to be in pain. I have searched all over the internet, and have come up with nothing.

A question for the group: Can guinea pigs catch any of the above bugs from a human? Every year it's a guarantee that I'll catch one or more of those nasties at least twice & I don't wanna give it to my little piggy.
