Piggie Having Surgery28 Nov 2006 17:26 GMT5
My little adopted piggie, Evelyn, started having bloody urine on
Tuesday.  A trip to our exotics vet pinpointed bacteria in the urine so
she was given some B-complex/hydration and we were sent home with
Acidophilus/oral Baytril to help the infection.   By Friday (today) she

Our Peanut, age 3.5, will have her operation on Tuesday morning.
She has all the symptoms of PCO (hair loss, loss of muscle around the

Recently I posted about a guniea pig that had taken a likeing to
rattling his cage.  He was missing the 4oz water bottle I would fill

Napoleon seems to have a lump of some kind on his back.  It's on the
right side, over his bottom ribs, and feels like it's at least a full
centimetre in diameter.  It doesn't feel asymmetrical.  It's definitely
under the skin.  I can't get a good look at it because it's under a

My daughter is hinting around to add a 3rd pig to other two which she
has had for a little over a year.

some other opinions..
Just thought of another one..18 Nov 2006 22:27 GMT3
I was in the hardware store the other day and they have something like
a PVC pipe that would be big enough for a pig. Is it safe? I'm not
looking to build a piggy version of Habitrail but what can they have?
Zucchini15 Nov 2006 21:55 GMT8
I have a big Zucchini from a friend.  Is zucchini good for a guinea pig
diet?
Piggies Can Stretch!!!15 Nov 2006 10:48 GMT1
My daughter is amazed as to how long her piggies can get. Since we put
the cage by her door, they hold onto the side of the cage and can
stretch 1-2" over the top of the 14" wall.
and then they compact themselves into a little ball of fur maybe 4
