A guinea pig friend for my lonesome chinchilla?30 Jan 2007 21:29 GMT1
A family friend is offering me a couple week old male guinea pig that
is very sweet and mellow.  I already have a very well-loved male
chinchilla that is just under two years old.  I have been intending to
get my chinchilla a friend for a while as he is so social that I feel

3 girls for rehoming in Kent UK28 Jan 2007 17:54 GMT2
I am posting this to rehome 3 of my guinea pigs.  Unfortunately I am not
able to give them the time they deserve so they would be better placed in a
forever home where they can have lots of cuddles.  They have all been looked
after in the very best way and been fed on Oxbow hay ...
I ran out of pellets and fresh veggies.....28 Jan 2007 13:23 GMT10
Cannot get more until late today.  Was wondering if bread is ok to feed
the piggies and perhaps canned veggies??
IF canned veggies are ok, would salt be a concern?  If not, which ones
would be ok.

Just for those who were following the "2 new male arrivals" thread...we had
some bad news yesterday.  our 6+ year old female (Ginger) passed away in my
wife's arms.
It was strange...earlier this week she'd been a little less active, and that
Anyone Ever Tried Growing Timothy Hay?26 Jan 2007 00:12 GMT8
for some reason this idea popped into my head while watching Green
Acres last night.
I wonder just what is involved in growing hay.  Too weird an idea to
feed 4 piggies?
Guinea pigs attacking!25 Jan 2007 20:54 GMT3
My two guinea pigs Ginny and Jenny who have been living in the same
cage ever since I've gotten them seem to have had a falling out.  Jenny
is for some reason absolutely TERRIFIED of Ginny.  She almost jumped
out of her C & C cage trying to run away from her.  Other times Jenny
Cage size?25 Jan 2007 20:50 GMT4
I have two guinea pigs. They have a cage that is about 7 sq feet in size. It
seems pretty cramped for them. Is there a way that I could add on to it or
is it just fine.
Here is a link to the cage I have:
Reintroducing two male24 Jan 2007 13:14 GMT4
My fiancee and I have two male piggies, Petey and Fudgems.  When we
first got them back in October they were best buddies until my fiancee
cut the Petey's hair and they went at it.  Not a cute little fight, but
their were teeth chattering and blood was drawn.  We've had them
RIP Princess24 Jan 2007 03:47 GMT5
Princess just died in my arms.
I came home from church & shopping this afternoon and she was marginally
responsive.  I could tell the end was near.
I'm glad I got home when I did; I was able to hold her for the last hour

Do Piggies Ever Settle Down?18 Jan 2007 23:36 GMT10
I have 2 pigs, around 1.5 yrs old. one rarely runs when we pick her up,
the other runs laps like there is no
tomorrow around the cage each time we try to pick her up.
Is that ever going to change?
2 new male arrivals17 Jan 2007 21:46 GMT3
Well, I put the word out among my friends that I was looking for a guinea
pig to keep my existing one (Ginger) company, (she's about 4 or 5) since she
lost her cagemate Blizzard last year.  Well, at a Christmas party I found
someone who didn't want their 2 piggies...trouble is, ...
Guinea Pig Diet17 Jan 2007 15:30 GMT5
Today I had my 3rd guinea pig into the vet because they were not
eating/lethargic and they were found to have a distended stomach.  I'm
not sure what is causing it, but I can't help but think it is something
that I'm doing.  Our guinea pig's diet is as follows:
Trimming Claws13 Jan 2007 00:26 GMT3
Hi I have 2 guineas who are only 3 months old - can anyone tell me how
often they need their claws trimming and also how old they might be
before they need trimming.  This is the first time we have had any pets
so are learning all the time.
