Will the dog EVER get used to the guinea pig?19 Aug 2007 13:50 GMT1
I am hoping someone with guinea pigs and a dog can help me out here.
I have two very young guinea pigs in a pretty darn big closed-in cage
in our family room. They are new to our family - only been here 3
days. I would like to keep them in the family room so they have lots
Fleas on the Piggies17 Aug 2007 23:54 GMT3
I have been letting my pigs roam around outdoors in a chicken run and ex-hen
house.  It has a hay floor.  Well, the cats have been getting in there and
playing with the pigs and now there's a flea infestation.  Does anyone know
of a safe but effective method of getting rid of the ...

How to administer Baytril solution?17 Aug 2007 14:15 GMT5
How would you best advise administering Baytril, an antibiotic liquid
medicine syrup? We have a syringe for mouth feeding our two new GPs, but one
in particular (Biggun) doesn't like it and he fights to avoid it. The other
one (Freakazoid) is reasonably happy to drink it. We ...
Safe to use homemade pine chips for bedding?17 Aug 2007 08:20 GMT1
Has anyone used homemade pine chips for bedding for their guinea pig.
I read pretty extensively about how pine can be harmful to their
health if it contains a lot of volatile oils, and that if you let them
sit out and dry they can be safe.
Babie pigs/youngster pigs and pellets13 Aug 2007 00:03 GMT4
I feed my babies and youngster pigs lots and lots of hay and different
sorts of veggies every day. But what about pellets? I´ve heard they
are supposed to have as much as the want to eat, but I´m not into
that. I´m afraid they will get fat or grow too fast. I give them a
Diagnosing piggies ailments10 Aug 2007 19:23 GMT1
Vedra Stanley-Spatcher at UKs CCT (Cambridge Cavy trust) has just
written a diagnostic guide for Guinea pigs. I have just proof read and
edited it for her free of charge. Unfortunately she had printed 300
copies before I saw it, so if you buy it, let's hope you get an edited

GPs - how to get them tame?10 Aug 2007 19:18 GMT5
Please can you advise us - how should we tame two guinea pigs who get on
well with one another but seem afraid of us? We have seen some improvement
in "tameness" during the last seven days, but would like to know if we need
to do things differently.
What is a guinea pig worth?10 Aug 2007 19:13 GMT13
I am curious to know the value of a little guinea pig around the world...
Here in New Zealand they range from "free" to perhaps $10 in a pet shop.
I think mostly they are free as they can easily be found through the trade
and exchange magazines..I have heard they can cost up to $400 ...
