Has anyone used homemade pine chips for bedding for their guinea pig. I read pretty extensively about how pine can be harmful to their health if it contains a lot of volatile oils, and that if you let them sit out and dry they can be safe.

Please can you advise us - how should we tame two guinea pigs who get on well with one another but seem afraid of us? We have seen some improvement in "tameness" during the last seven days, but would like to know if we need to do things differently.

I am curious to know the value of a little guinea pig around the world... Here in New Zealand they range from "free" to perhaps $10 in a pet shop. I think mostly they are free as they can easily be found through the trade and exchange magazines..I have heard they can cost up to $400 ...

Blossom pig died whilst she was with me last Summer aged 6 and a half after a brief illness and we buried her in the garden. Her soulmate and sister Cocoa was taken into the garden to graze 2 days later. She had weak hindlimbs from birth and very poor sight so NEVER ventured
