Hello all. New to the group. Have 2 baby piggies. One is 9 weeks and
one is 8 weeks. Have already been to the vet for a URI (one was a
petstore piggy, came with a URI) but she's better now. Fiona is a gray
sable color and Lyra is white with chocolate glasses and a chocolate

I got up this morning as per normal.  Went to the kitchen, opened the
blinds, looked out to make sure my boys were up and saw it!  Ginger-

I used to frequent this newsgroup quite a bit 5 years ago, back when
Nancy DeMarco & others were regular posters.
Back then I  had 5 pig-wigs and  my doctors (ENT & allergy) told me to
get rid of my guinea pigs because of my allergies - as in right away.

Malinka is scheduled for a visit to the vet this afternoon. We noticed
he can't properly use his right rear leg. Sometimes he limps, at other
times he makes a sort of "bunny hop", to prevent using the leg.
When we investigated his leg ourselves we could not detect anything out

One of my three year old guineas - Darla - has a persistent breathing
problem which seems to come and go. It's like a rattling sound and is
more in her throat than her lungs. I took her to the vet last time it
happened and he gave her a baytril shot, followed by another a few

The vet just put Mika on meds, suddenly she also has trouble breathing.
Fortunately we found out early, so there's still a good chance for
recovery. Also, Mika is 3 years old, Droopy was 7, so I think Mika has a
better chance at this.
